Stockport Woodsmoor Classic Car Show - Get your fucking arses in gear, would you now!

Due to the forum experiencing some minor glitches lately, I take the liberty to open another thread for this.

A classic car show will ensue in Stockport on Bank Holiday Monday 29th August 2016.

It is all for a good cause, hence I expect a shite avalanche in attendence!

For more information, please visit this delightfully 1990s website: http://www.wccr.org.uk/

And if you really don't want to go there, here is the official* map that will aid you in never finding it:

Note to the members of the Northern Powerhouse® and the Granadaland Greenhouse Gassers©:

Participation is voluntary, but not optional!

Hmmm.... planning to see the parents that weekend, maybe I can persuade them to come to us, and say "I hear the town of Stockport is lovely this time of year... shall we pay it a visit"

I guess that makes me a doubtful maybe....

WTF will I be doing on a bank holiday?

I'll cycle over.

I'm sure someone could provide a lift mate.

If your parents happen to be from 1993 Albania, they might actually agree.

I shall also be attending, although I'll give the official maps a miss as only bad things can happen when lost and alone in Stockport.

This sounds better and nearer than Thoresby hall show which I don't even think is fiat friendly.

Would be nice to take one of the Pandas along.

Will I need to fit locking wheel nuts to the alloys?

What time is everyone going to be there? As the website helpfully doesn't say when things kick off.

Was it good? Some very bad news has meant I've been out of town a lot recently and consequently didn't make it.

Holy thread resurrection, Junkman!

Stockport will be again the centre of the classic car scene this year.

Sadly the terminally shite map is gone this year. It has been replaced by this better* one:

I think I speak for all who attended last year when I say that this is a surprisingly good show,

contrary to all the cries of naysayers.

I hope the Northern Powerhouse will again join the GGG.

Needless to say that this is call for attendence to all who are residing in the outlying areas.

Yep, I'll be there. Wonder if they'll let me exhibit the Rover as happened with Cleon-Fonte's BX last year.

I think this picture says it all about the required standards of presentation.

Remember those Tractions last year?

They were bloody ace they were.

I haven't forgotten the grill platter at the pub that said 'we've got nothing left to eat' either.

So that's bank holiday monday.  May as well try and book a day off work then.  Only 14 weeks away.

Bump - Oldford's death reminded me of how important it is to support your local charities.

I hence would like to remind you of this event, the proceeds of which are going 100% to St Ann's Hospice and Tommy's.

It is a delightfully informal affair and more a social event than a car show, hence even I consider participating.

There is also not a half hour long cooling system strength test on the way in, one of the hallmarks of the usual British

classic car shows.

Despite being as small as it is, the Mercedes Benz of UK Club and the Rolls Royce Enthusiasts Club local branches

are traditional participants and hand over sizeable cheques for the charity.

Participation is free, but the organisers - a young local couple who own a delightfully shonky DS 20 - expect a 5 quid

donation per car, although this is entirely voluntary.

Now, in the shadow of Oldford's demise, wouldn't it be a good idea to do a collection here and hand over an Autoshite cheque at the event?

PS - I would like to bring two cars to this, hence a driver for one of my heaps wouldn't go amiss.

Applicants must prove they are LHD savvy.

I am LHD savvy, but only in a LHD country.

Unfortunately my presence is required at Belle Vue on that day.

If you give me details for a collection I will forward some cash.
