A stupid question about tyres.

The Mitsu wears rubbery boots of 185/70/14.

Would 175/65/14 fit at all?

This may well seem like a very silly question.

Yes but gears would all be shorter, the tyre load rating may not be up to the job and you'd lose a little ground clearance. Ride could be iffy, too. Obv just don't mix sizes on the same axle (I don't get the feeling you were going to, but prob worth saying in case you were trying to make up for serious camber on local roads).

would be a smaller rolling diameter but should fit as its only one width down

Ok guys, thanks. It was just a thought as I will have 4 of the smaller size hanging around very soon. They are all virtually unused too.

Shame.

Perfect for someone with a BX, though.

Really? So, anyone with a BX who may need tyres? :)

Yes.

Mixing sizes on the same axle is an MOT fail.

Don't do it!

It'll look shit.

Sorry but wrong size tyres , particularly too small are one of my pet hates. I have been known to point and laugh at e34 5's on e36 wheels and tyres for example.
