Car mats

I need to get some car mats sorted for the 406 as I'm getting tired of them riding up behind the pedals. I know you probably 'get what you pay for' and the £9.99 ones on eBay are likely to be a bit rubbish but does anyone have any recommendations where to get some reasonably decent ones that don't cost the earth?

eBay is your best bet. Look for original but used mats for the 406. Both estate and saloon will have the same mats.

If you can't find mats for sale on thier own, try 406 breakers on eBay, mkre often tha not they'll have a set and be happy to, part with them for some £beer mon£y.

Scrapyard. Carpets are nothing but a nuisance to scrap men. If they fit, you can't go wrong with BMW mats, like the rest of the car they are quality stuff.

Aim for ebay tailored "premium" around the 25 quid price point and you can't go far wrong. I bought them for the Jag, ZX, and Kalos and they're decent enough and not tissue paper.

*premium is intended in the Chinese sense.

I hesitated to say "office carpet tiles are hardwearing", then you put that up. :-D

Every so often Aldi do rubber mat sets for £6 for 4 and they are great, I got a set for the Nissan as the mats in that were paper-thin and wish I got some for the Saab too. They don't slide about and are dead easy to clean too.

Thanks for all the suggestions. Will lookout for some genuine 406 ones initially but also tempted by some aldi rubber ones too as I use the car for a lot of tip runs so they would make sense.

Been in Aldi today and ours had some, didn't look at the price though.

It's always OEM rubber mats for me. They fit properly and are easier to clean. Bugger the expense, I'm a mat snob.

I've had cheap fabric car mats ride up under the pedals. Avoid

strangely the original carpet in my dolomite does that!
