Specifically, the colour of these wheels:

I reckon it could be 'diarrhée or' that was popular on Clios of the period.

austin rover Cashmere Gold would be close

How about Subaru Vulg 'or? That's got to be close.

Was it actually a Renault colour or a colour from Emkei/OZ or whoever made the wheels?

It may even have been a colour the Williams f1 team had lying about from an old livery

But on a more helpful note, the wheels of the Clio Williams were an Akzo Nobel colour - code was 7E 81208. It is possible they used the same shade for the BTCC car? According to the Cliosport forums, it's a tricky colour to match and even trickier to make work as it is very sensitive to light, heat, damp, etc etc.

You could apply that last sentence to most of the French automotive industry..........................

It's the special paint from the Quartermaster's branch, it is used so that the car can use its invisibility cloak and avoid electrical failures; I can just hear Desmond Llewellyn explaining it "Now pay attention 007!"

Sorry Dugong, but I don't think there is a Renault one. The Williams wheels were made by Speedline so perhaps they themselves have a name for the colour?

Not a bad shout. I think AS will approve of my gopping homage when it's done.

I'm not sure it's the same shade as the gold Clios. Are you making a BTCC replica out of the estate?

Given the sponsorship by Nescafe, surely it should be Gold Blend

Have you got some "SWEET RIMZ YO" or are you going to paint the wheel trims gold for that Tesco value BTCC racer look?

A very mild replica, yeah.

I have some 19 16v turbines and may well ho with a darker shade of gold.
