Peugeot 406HDi - £300

I want Sutty's Carlton but I am short of cash. This displeases me.

 

2003/03 Peugeot 406HDi 90bhp Rapier saloon, silver, 87k-ish on the clock, test til late September. Three keys, remote central locking, CD multichanger (untested), aircon (I think working) no warning lights on, front droplinks rattling a bit, dent on the OSR door, paint not perfect on the bonnet and the back bumper. Goes well but smells a bit of dog/fags. Shiters discocunt available. Car is in Paisley, 3 minutes from Glasgow Airport or Paisley Gilmour St/Paisley St James stations.

I can vouch for the 90bhp hdi 406. Enough power, good economy, no dmf, simple to work on and can do big mileages. They also have a nice supple ride and feel surefooted in the corners. Quite roomy too. I like mine a lot.

Just out of curiosity, is "Rapier" a trim level or does it mean anything else? Didn't realise they held on to the Rootes nostalgia for so long.

Wasn't it one of those special editions that was basically a poverty spec + one bonus extra gadget that you usually only got on higher spec models?

 

Like how the Mk3 Ford Mondeo Edge is basically an LX spec with chrome trim and Titanium wheels....
