Spotted this yoke on my travels! Tiny thing which I think is mini based. Quirky wee thing, and kind of cute. But utterly bonkers! Sort of a 50% scale mk3 escort with datsun cherry rear lights.

It's a Sabre Sprint kit car. It's a full fibreglass composite bodyshell based on Mini A series running gear,the rear lamps are from a Triumph acclaim. They made them in Newcastle for around 3 or 4 years starting in around 1984. Apparently they were very strong beasties and the styling is certainly very mk3 escort drawn by a 5 yr old on an etchasketch. This one's been for sale on the blue forum for around six months and has just been sold over the past few days. I've always had a perverse hankering for one and painting it sunburst red like an early xr3!

There is a red one out there, I thought it was the only one and a homebrew effort, I didn't realise it was a kit!

The seller was asking 1500 quid for it. Fresh Mot but needing some fettling and paintwork. It's had a fair amount of recommissioning work done to it in the past year. As vulgalour has mentioned there is a red one which was running around with a metro turbo lump for a while...and was for sale fairly recently engineless on eBay in the Liverpool area. If you Google Sabre sprint it's the red car that most frequently appears on images.
