Parts washer fluid recommendations please.

I have got myself an old large parts washer and am looking for what degreaser to put into it as I have no idea.

I have no idea what will actually clean up car parts and not kill the pump.

As this is a really boring question have a couple of pictures of me getting the parts washer to my unit.

Did about 15 miles and it didn't fall off so that was good.

Those mirrors look the same as my Rialto.

They are a bit rubbish due to where they have been put, possibly when the car was quite new as the mirror surface is also rubbish!

Paraffin, thats what I used in mine, its a bit flammable mind, or Kerosene.

Will shift most things.

Jizer in mine,

bought in a 25l drum occasionally filtered. (fleabay £77 free delivery)

Also heard good things of Carplan Engine cleaner & degreaser (also fleabay £67.20 free delivery)

I know it sounds a lot of dosh but I ran the first batch for over ten years in the parts washer.

I generally use kerosene for parts cleaning as well, can't go wrong at approx 60p/litre.

No idea if its ok for the pump in the parts cleaner though.

The Safety-Kleen stuff is the best bar none. Not sure of cost now, but would guess about £45 for 30 litres, they'll deliver free too most likely.

Thanks for all the suggestions, have started pricing up so I can no doubt make a load of mess while 'cleaning' parts.
