No idea what this is like, but it's not far so I plan to go along and have a look...

Anyone fancy it?

It's a great meeting with a wide variety of cars although it has quickly become very popular so getting there early is advised as parking spaces soon fill up.

Sounds delightfully shite, hence the Granadaland Greenhouse Gassers are a force* to be reckoned with.

I have seen high end classics, Viva HA vans, muscle cars, 70s 80s custom cars and everything else you can think of at this event.

All the modern euroboxes get parked on a separate field to the interesting stuff but it has become so popular that this 2nd field is also

used as an overflow for the interesting stuff.

Bump for a sunny (so says the BBC) afternoon out looking at old vehicles! I shall be there.

I hope some pictures will be forthcoming StrangleAngle. Many bonus points from me if you get any pictures of actual carding machinery from the carding shed as I trained up as a carding engineer in Meltham many moons ago.

Alas I couldn't find any of that, but I did take some pictures...

Dippy was right - it is worth getting there early. I rolled up at half three and the show field was pretty well full.

I should have brought the BX, there weren't any of those. Then again it was a fine day for driving with the top down.

Here's some of the attractions, or the stuff I liked best anyway!

After I'd had a good look round the show I had a peer into the workshop, where you could see the works in progress

Nope sorry, can't see anything out of place in this shot at all.

Bonus Laverda Jota

Unscheduled 205 convoy on the way out... the queue to get in at 5 o'clock was huge!

I somehow managed not to spend any money, so I bunged a fiver in the Air Ambulance box.

Top afternoon out, definitely recommended :-D

[There's even more pics here if you're still awake]

Surely that's a CTi, so your CJ really was the only one there

Great pictures, plenty much thanks for sharing.

Lovely pics Jaz!

"Carding" is part of the processing of sheeps' wool, it's the brushing or combing of the pulled fleece to align the fibres before spinning. From memory.

So the Carding Shed would be where that was done, I guess.

Bugger as normal I've missed something I actually wanted to go to :-(

Scary thing is I also trained* as a carding engineer in Meltham. Shame I only lasted about two weeks as I was a total wanker. Long time ago and of course the mills gone now.

This meeting used to be unknown to many but now that word has got round it is very busy.

I got there ½ hour before it officially started so was ok, but a mate of mine was late and queued for nearly an hour to get in. Huge queues for food and drink so glad I had something to eat before arriving.

As always though a great meeting of all car enthusiasts.

It's nice to see the exotic and shite side by side.

There be fictitious llamas and a fictitious sheep shearing gang too.

I had seen that this was on this weekend, but I knew how busy it would get mad busy with even a hint of decent weather.

The carding shed/oil can cafe is a cracking venue for a meet (I used to run a meet out of there just after it opened)  but I fear it's simply too successful for its own good as parking is an issue on a 'normal' Saturday (IE, with no events on)

Looks like a cracking selection anayway, as I've come to expect at Oil Can!

If you guys that wanted to come but couldn't want to get out and see some old tat, come to Leeds cruise next weekend!

Could be up for this... when/where please?

oh boy... a viking fiberline caravan!

the bestest caravans eva!! (its the 2-tone thing peeking out from behind the Rover BRM)

looks like it was a good meet with the right level of old motors, plus the weather seems to have been just right too!
