2 hours later a man with another man arived, outside our house just as it started to snow.Said first man parked a Renault Laguna outside a house in our street, more of this later.

So my No1 son climbed into the back of a Astra,Said man's son had to be folded into the rear of the car.

The trip over to Sunderland passed quickly with chat about shite cars.

On arrival some tinkering happened,as one of the floats for the carb had turned into a sink not a float. So i new one was fitted.

The car was pulled out of its slumber, tyres were filled with air.

That's gorgeous. Great yard line-up as well - is that fella SOC?

On leaving the garage to return to collect a Renault Laguna,No1 son rang MrsV8.Were the rena was parked lives on old battleaxe who complains about everything. She had been out looking at the car, cutting the hedge, sitting on a chair on her drive.

Then complaining to the postman that someone had parked outside her house.

Unfortunately by the time we arrived back at my house she had gone out.

that car sir is glorious. a real work of automotive art and porn all in one.

the yard though, its not owned by mad max is it? bikes on barbed wire fences and all. but at  least the daimler isn't the only cool car there!

good work on get it back on the road, i've got to try and wake both the metro and XJ6 from their slumber in the next couple of weeks. i;'m still pissed at the mini so that little twat can stay where it is for now.....

Was she on fire?

If only. The fire would be under the cauldron that the old witch uses.

Silver really suits that, I can't remember ever seeing a silver Mk2 shape Daimler or Jag before.

I much prefer the late thin bumpers too, my perfect spec Mk2 would be a late narrow bumper Daimler with a 4.5 V8 auto fitted, and those XJ6 style hubcaps, then go out baiting Carmen Red 3.8s and Hawthorn Rep green 3.4 Mk1s

Tis weird I know but I really dislike Mk2 Jaguars, and REALLY like these Daimlers.

whats NOT to like?

i think the fact that the daimler is still on its steel wheels and hubcaps, instead of been downgraded* to wire wheels make it an even bigger whinnahhhh!

i'm jealous, oh so jealous....

V8 aside, I have never really worked out why I like these Daimler versions so much more than the Jag.   Never driven either but I reckon the characters of the two are pretty different.

If you fancy a ride north you can have a drive..

I did toy with the idea of wires but the steels are just so much better.

Posted

yes, on these steel wheels is the way to go.

the number of times ive seen something like a mark 2 or s-type sat on wires and all i can think is that the car would look so much better still sat on its original wheels. then i suppose i could well be very odd....

thank you sir for the kind offer of a go, be careful what you say as i could well take you up on that!

hmmmmmmmm, Daimler.......

The trademark bike welded to the fence confirms it to be the case.

That is a very, very pretty car and we need to see more of it.  Autoshite's gone all classy of late.

I have been a little quiet about the Daimler of late, due to pneumonia and shift work getting in the way.

So as today was a day off,we Mrs v8 and i went to get her. I wash and a polish i managed to brake the RAC badge on the front :-( :-(

New plug leads fitted. The run from Sunderland over to Chester le street was a little tense,as the car was running like shite at first, lack of use,but as it warmed up it became more settled.

I went to pick my 10 year old up from school, the smile on his face in front of all his mate showing off in daddy's car.

Yesterday i was offered a garage,to park the Daimler in,in the next street to were i live for £££free of charge.

So the days of it living in a damp concrete garage 11 miles away are hopefully over.
