I cleared 40 a while back and I've passed the "eat anything yet still have a 32" waist" stage; presently currently straddling the difficult "my children have proved how uncool I am" stage; but not yet quite in that "Daily mail nazi in a mobility scooter" stage. So when I booked a holiday I can legitmately go to the Canary Islands now. In fact looking round I appear to be a product from the fountain of youth!

First up SHITE BINGO!

Next up the PSA Dacia Logan the C - Elysee (Peugeot 301 is the other flavour)

Finally some HARDCORE TRIMZ ACTION

My uncle owns a white Corrado over there. :-D  8) I would love to move over at some point. I can never seem to find the right time. Maybe once I've finished my qualifications. :-(  :?

That's what the badge said, my OJC SKILLZ are not to hot, so I had to cheat.

That's not far from where I stayed, I think.

Have you seen a yellow Fiat 127 trundling about? Really super-clean?

Posted

The Toyota is a good spot!

Is that Las Americas? I went their 5 years ago this month.

Posted

The Cressida is a great spot. There was plenty of chod in Los Christianos when I visited there in 2012 but disappointingly only one obviously restored Renault 5 and no other French or Spanish old cars😢

Posted

I've noticed loads of awesome cars out there, including a mk2 cavalier cabrio. :-D

I'm in Santiago for a few days, the only 127 I've seen (from the taxi piloted by Alonso's brother, sublime SKILLZ) was a FOUR DOOR! Might have even been a 147! I saw a SEAT badged Panda tonight, not sure if it was real or badge conundrum as it was wearing Abarth badge too. CALLING PANDA PERVS.

I will keep an eye out for it daylight, shouldn't be difficult it's parked next to a bar.

Tailgate looks Seat. Only sure F.I.R.E. way to tell is that they don't have that engine, and they have the beam axle, not the omega axle of the facelift, IIRC.

Not sure about the back, but the front deffo looks like a Panda rather than Marbella.

The Seat ones we got seem gawky and slightly out-of-proportion, the way so many automotive copies do.

Quality grot-spottery, by the way. Ta!

I've spent far too long staring at the Pandella. It is a Panda front for sure but I can't think what the grill is from.

I like the Marbella in Tenerife theme though.

Bonus points if you spot a Malaga. Or Ibiza. Or Nissan Almeria. Or, errr, a Hispano Suiza Torremolinos.

Nice spottage.

The Pandella looks to be a bog standard MK1 panda (Corrugated doors, quarterlights, no rear wheelarch - those 'spats' were an accessory available on the MK1) with the Seat badging, as they all were in Spain...

The grill looks to be the one that was on the Seat Panda 'Terra'...

I was going to say, I'm 100% it's Seat - look at the steels, they're different on Fiats too.

Finally some Spanish filth, LITERALLY no SEATS out there at all, SEAT really is VAG's answer to Lancia (RIP shortly)

Hope you don't mind a bit of a threadjack chap, but I was in Tenerife last week, Puerto de la Cruz to be exact.

It was sods law, when I saw something interesting, no camera. I saw this in the cab rank:

But didn't have the camera, saw it again on the move, and the only shot I could get was the one above.

Not really too much tat over that side of the island, so not many pics unfortunately, but did see an absolutely mint metallic blue Sierra, and the same condition Volvo 240.

The only other shots I got were pretty uninteresting, but have them anyway:

I'll take the 3-door City please. Looks gloriously poverty-spec and has the proper triangle-hole steelies too. If there's one thing I don't like about mine is that it doesn't have them :( Love how they're all in white, one thing that I've always noticed about old tat on the continent - white was such a popular colour compared to over here.

There's no better holiday than one with Vauxhall Novas in it.
