K plate spotted in the wild today!

K28 UBJ - is it on the survival list? Registered 28th April 1993

Apologies for the potato cam quality, my phone always seems to take the best pictures when you haven't got numerous people in a Tesco car park giving you funny looks while scrabbling to get your phone out of your pocket to excitedly photograph a 30 year old Mondeo... 🤣

Looks like an LX, I was trying to work out if it was another bASe but then saw the badge on the wing. And of course the alloys. They can't be factory fit?

I spotted this again on Friday coming the other way on the M25 :) nice to see it's still going

The inner bulb will pull out of that holder and be tiny itself. (and maybe cheaper but possibly not vs with the holder) Their the same as a 1980's Hoover Turbopower headlamp bulb.

I fitted 2 of those (genuine too) to the ex's meriva numberplate lights 🤣 Outlasted the car...

I've probably got one around *somewhere* just need to remember what that somewhere is, I think I've got a spare clock in the loft, so maybe just swap over.

As Beko said, it is probably a tiny little wedge bulb that pulls out of the holder.

I replaced a couple in the automatic gear selector on Mum’s Camry, they had little green condoms over them to colour the light.

Depends how much of  pain it is. I remember reading on the xm forum how it's best practise. To just replace every bulb with a new one even if only one has gone, but mostly because of how much of an arse stripping the dash down is 😂

Your clock looks easy enough to bung a used one in, but if you've spent 3 hours stripping something down I'd stick new ones in (then keep all the old working ones...)
