Here is an LX (diesel!) Citrine, which I found a pic of on Facebook without the kit.

Not sure how he’s got that as Citrene was only offered on the Si.

The piece egg showed on the previous page says it was available on LX too.

Didn’t know that! I’d only seen them on the Si, then again I can’t see many company car drivers opting for such a sudden colour.

Kudos to the first (and still current by the looks of it) owner of the Citrine yellow LX, brave at the time.

Could that be possibly the rarest of all existing MK1s nowadays?

probably yes, although the 4x4 Si's would run it close.

Once took the spoiler off one of those in a breakers in Staveley. Didn’t look too bad, assumed the transfer box had crapped out perhaps.

A bit more to this story...from owner's son

'Was a factory order. He did have 2 identical as he bought me mam one so she didn’t drive his. That one was left to the elements on the drive and as they live near the sea it simply disintegrated. The one in the picture has always been garaged.'

The old boy has been asked to stop driving now, so yes, it may come up for sale some time. Reg is M199NHN, 1st August reg, so bought as it changed to M.

Had 32k miles at last MOT, currently SORN'd. MOT history is good.

As a couple have surfaced recently, here's what Classic Ford said about the Citrine in 2019.

To be honest I've never heard of the Citrine

@KWhitethanks Mr W, yup got that one, not that it looks that likely to roll again.

I’m certain this one must be in the ledger by now, but just LOOK IT.

Any interior shots? I had an Si (black in colour) just like that.  Unfortunately previous car driver (it was a company car) was a smoker so it always seemed to have a whiff about it, despite cleaning it.

unlucky Alf, that's the only one someone posted on one of the Mondeo FB groups.

Embarrassingly low mileage again this year, but clean MOT pass in the bag today. Seventh MOT on my watch.

Verbal advisory again about weak nearside rear brake, so mechanic suggests they should be gone through, so will look out some OEM rear cylinders and get him to do it.

Lovely to see @KWhite's wonderful Mondeo at FotU this weekend. Credit to you chap.

(does the photo compression on here have to be so monumentally agressive? it's like 1998 dial up stuff)

@egg What are you keeping a list of? Is it all MK1 Mondeos or something specific?

I just decided to keep a record of K reg cars (registered between Mar-Jul 93)

These rear cylinders are dirt cheap? Who supplies Brakeworld?

I think mine have the earlier 93-94 smaller bore cylinders (21mm rather than 22mm) from looking online...

OK, after consulting with FB groups, seems it's based on drum size, to quote Paul from the group.

I’ve checked the early and late manuals and it comes down to drum size, 1.6 hatch and saloons have 203mm drums, all other models have 228mm drums, it would make sense then that the smaller wheel cylinders are for the smaller drum.

So I only have smoll brakes, because my car is slow...

Think they are a long defunct bottom of the barrel brand. Don't quote me on that though

Not saying you shouldn't use them though. But expect the worse. And we're talking brakes here!

Checked with Invicta Motors this morning, they have the 6808555 on the system for my car - which is the smaller cylinder bore. No longer hold, even to order in. So new old stock or a decent aftermarket, Bosch? Febi? Brembo?

A new one on me, the Ford dealer master key from this era.

I bought this issue in 1991 - first time Mondeo was seen in the press maybe? July 1991.
