My, that WAS quick.

I reckon it was Trigger, especially if he's christened it with a cheeky air biscuit.

Haha! That's Mr EssDeeWon on the left, and myself on the right. We were sharing local shite spots, he was telling me about an A reg Laurel which I haven't found yet.

A bit on the late side, but here's the one I had, 30 years ago.

Bought almost by accident at a local car auction.  It was the last thing through and I kind of took pity on it.  It'll be long gone now.

That car looks like an Opel Rekord D on Psilocybin. Amazing!

Coming to a trader near you soon - in front of a white background and priced at £5995.

The FE and the Rekord D weren't too far apart...

Not at all, I know. Quite pricey for GM to sell almost the same car in such modified looks in UK-typical numbers, Vauxhall had a very limited export market by that time. Never seen an FE on the continent.

I think not.

Floorpan is Opel, but the FE was (I believe) Vauxhall's last independent effort with no outside input into the design from GM. Oh yes, the wheels are stamped "REKORD" with the Opel logo.

Styling-wise, possibly - but only to a certain extent.  The use of the Opel floorpan dictates other critical structures and hard points, which in turn limits the scope of the outer design.  I've always liked the FE, but Vauxhall expended much resource to end up with something that looked similar to the Rekord D anyway.
