Weather is gorgeous today so the high class convertible is in action

Don't think I can bring myself to part with it. Bonus Mondeo shite in pub car park:

Replaced the Rover gear gaiter with one matching the seats because the old one was horribly knackered - might go back to the original black though

So much shit to fix so little time/room

Rover needs new rear bushes and ideally a full set of tyres

Van needs front drop links and brakes servicing, horn fixing

Golf needs a water pump and a few other bits (ignoring all the "nice to have" stuff)

Panda needs.... well everything

Fiesta stuck in my unit needs a timing belt and core plugs

Fucking hell.

Fleet reduction is going well though - binned off the two Corsas that were lying around and the uber miles A6 is also going. MX5 next.

Done none of the above but nothing else has broken either - can't really complain

Got a 2008 Clio coming in tomorrow which needs to be gone again very fucking quickly!

Posted

Why, whats wrong with it?

2008 Clio

Does anything more need to be said?

If the clios knackered and you break it I may have a home for the air con condenser!

Posted

Seriously it won't be knackered or at least I hope not - I just have some slight cashflow issues so need to turn it around quickly!

It's got less than 50k on the clock, FSH and one owner from new!

Judging by the location, was the phonecall to the AA, RAC or Green Flag?

Who left the wiring guide for the stereo in the centre console? Your efforts are much appreciated!

The fantastic purple pencil was lurking under the back seat. Don't bother looking under there for a sneaky way to access the fuel tank.

Need to get some audio in the Colt - found a HIGH CLASS* Alpine tape deck in the boot with what I was hoping was an ISO lead with the right kind of bullet connectors for the female bullets in the car but alas they are the wrong size (red instead of blue)

Must get some more connectors and sort it out

What did you buy a new one for? There's a perfectly manky one sitting on the parcel shelf.

Opened the MYSTERY BOX in the boot earlier - known good spares or parts that have been replaced before?

Nyphur is the one to ask I think. Several of us have not been brave enough to peek inside. I think there was mention of it in the ROFFLE thread.

It's a cracking thing to roll around in - I can't see it needing much to keep it going!

Wonder if I could use the plastic spout from a petrol can to make filling up easier - I figure if I push it down the "filler neck" and then stick the fuel nozzle in the end of it it'll be less fiddly / leaky

What you need is one of these!

Yes, it's a custom made filler neck made from random bits of exhaust. The Proton's filler neck was pretty bad, it used to leave a puddle when trying to put fuel in...

A length of garden hose will fit down the filler neck nicely, if you can find a funnel to attach to it when fueling you might have a temporary fix for it.

I have a feeling the fuel filler fabrication is very similar to what you did but doesn't quite fit properly

Posted

I'd love to go all out and sort out this car totally - arches, rear bumper, fuel filler, fuel sender

Pockets aren't deep enough though especially given most of those things need unobtanium parts

Well, if you feel like giving up I'll buy it from you.
