There was a 405td engine with bosch pump for sale in Edinburgh over on the blue forum, it seemed pricey for what you could pick up a scrap 405 for but it would be an easy option to just replace the engine.

Neil, I told Will your news this afternoon, he's sad for your loss and upset to hear it may be fragged.

He has a good head and separate block you can have for £40, though he said you probably just need a new cam in it - valves don't tend to bend as they move perfectly vertically and the piston tops are flat.

 

Maybe whip the cover off and have a look, if it is just a cam, he could send you one, he's posting loads of stuff out these days.
