Past it in 89 and it disappeared of my licence on the move to placcy card

This is a widely known problem, I know three riders who have lost their licence in exactly this way, yet DVLA refuse to enter into any correspondence on the subject. One even has his expired paper licence as proof, yet the only response he's received from Capita is to threaten him with court action for forging the document he's using to prove that he's passed his bike test.

Praise the DVLA? Fuck off.

I gave up in the end and just three years ago resat it at great cost, I won't say anymore as I get a bit pissed,

Neadless to say I photocopied both our licences when the photo needed updated and I also think my misses has gained a section on hers.

fookin wankers is all I'm saying

Try and get them to pay the correct person when they refund car tax after you've sold a car. I heard recently this whole taxing on-line caper has cost them millions, which pleases me greatly after the way they've robbed me recently.

Cost "them" millions?  You do realise that "they" are us, er, don't you?  Robbed you?  Really?  Maybe look up the definitiion of robbery.

Tell me more kiltox as I need to do this on one of my cars. My only issue is the vehicle had been off the road since around 1989 ish. It was then taken off the road, I've recently returned it to the road (last November) before you had to take your car to a dvla regional office? How does that work now?

Regards a change of vin- I've had that twice, images of vin showing error made and new doc issued with amended number.no issues at all.

finally anyone have a v5c missing the model? On one of my docs it just says the make and not the model. I phoned dvla and they said I needed a letter from the manufacturer, tried but due to age they have no records. I did a history check on it via dvla and in the past it shows make and model but somehow it's dropped off over time. They said they won't accept that as evidence even though they supplied it to me? Any ideas?

Is it taxed and MOTed?

If it is, transfer or retain the number using the online service providing you have the V5C document reference number etc, pay the fee and have it done in about 2 minutes

Yes taxed/mot'd and insured. I'll give it a go and see what happens. Ta.

I've found the DVLA to be much more useful recently. Sorting the Escort registration was an absolute piece of piss in comparison to how it was previously.

Also, the new system for tax may be a 5 min PITA, but that's a massive improvement over the drive to the past office etc.

"The Past Office" is quite a good name given the relics usually employed and the reliance on forms in triplicate and dotting all your Ts.

Does remind me of the Vogons at times.

Online is great, I think Nigel transferred the Saab over that way and I had the confirmation letter within the week.
