Advice on finding magazine articles please...

I'm trying to find articles, road tests and group tests on certain cars in magazines such as practical classics, car mechanics, auto express etc but I'm not finding it easy. Is there a way I can identify which editions featured which cars? Looking for the following:

 

Peugeot 406 hdi 90

Toyota Celica 1999-2005

Toyota mr2 mk1 1985-1989

You could try looking for magazines on ebay, copies are usually listed with a summary of the articles within.

Easy ! Go on ebay . For example :  type in Peugeot 405  ... catagory - books magazines.. Search .. then tick little box " included in description" ... search again..!

I've had a look on eBay. I've found some mags only thing people think they're worth a lot of money now. At least i know which mags the articles are in. Shame the articles aren't available online anywhere, pdf's or something. Or would that be against copyright?

There's someone on eBay who has all the issues of car mechanics magazines from 2000 to the present day. Only thing is he wants £72, for each year!

No No ! Once you know the magazine you want , search the date and mag name, and you'll find a cheap one ,from someone who hasn't bothered to say pukegeot 406

Um, I just binned a load of CAR magazines from the late 90s and 2000s (because they're mostly puerile derivative rubbish, and so are quite a lot of the cars).  Soz.

Found an old What car from 98 with a 406 in a group test against a S40 and a Mondeo. It's a petrol though unfortunately.

I have tons of magazines in the garage such as Car from 1980s to early 2000s, Practical Classics, 1980s and 1990s Autocar, Top Gear etc, there's too many to look through for specific cars to be honest, but they're mostly in date order so if you identify a particular mag that has what you need I may well be able to help

I've had a brief look in the loft at the Autocar road tests to see if I can help

 

There's no 406 hdi 90 test, closest is a 110 estate. For some reason all the saloon tests are petrols.

 

MkI MR2 road test dates are 13.3.85 and 29.10.86, sorry, I dont have them, my collection only really starts at 87.

 

Celica is 3.12.99, and that I have. I can try copying that for you.

 

There's probably more in Car Magazine, but that's a real dig to find as it's not indexed.
