That brake pipe guff always gets brought up. A quick rub with some sandpaper always tidies it up. I have never had a car fail a retest despite never replacing a single pipe for an MOT.

 

You can probably sort the handbrake by taking the 20p out of it too.

You've been lucky then. I've had pipes that only got advised for rust fall to bits when touched.
