blackbart Posted December 15, 2015 Posted December 15, 2015 hi all, im having a pre christmas clearout. i was going to put it on fleabay as spares, but thought id give it a shot here first. its my old (2004) nissan almera. its the top of the range with a/c built in computer/ sat nav etc. here's the bad bits, there's always bad bits lol.its only got 2 days mot left. it has a perforated sump, so will need a second hand one off ebay. the engine light has been on for months, but never bothered me. the code says its a crank sensor. it will need a couple of anti roll bar bushes for mot. and the mother in law opened the passenger door on a cyclist and damaged the door lol.good bits, its never let me down in 6 months, apart from spewing its oil outside my house i mean, lol. its got about 12 stamps in the service book, up to around 2013. and its done about 130,000ive bought another car now. so it's gotta go.the highest offer takes it away. asap preferably, as its down my local club, and they want it shifting very soon.im sure with a days tinkering, it would do someone a turn, i bought it to ge me out the shite, and it did the job, so its a shame to see it scrapped.i'll try and upload some pics. please someone take pity on it, the highest offer gets it. hoping to get £100 or maybe even a cheap roffle.just pm me if you need anymore info. all the best guys and girls
Cavcraft Posted December 15, 2015 Posted December 15, 2015 I don't want it but price and location will help chief. GSTWTSGLS
blackbart Posted December 15, 2015 Author Posted December 15, 2015 sorry , im in coventry and was hoping to get £100. if it's not worth getting roadworthy again ,then maybe it would do someone for spares. obviously it will need trailering as the oil is leaking out of the sump. and no tax etc.
Slartibartfast Posted December 15, 2015 Posted December 15, 2015 That's a nice car for a ton, even with scrap as it is. Surely some sort of chemical weld bodge can be done to the sump to get it driveable to at least shift it to a new home.Too far from me and I don't have 100 and I already have a hopeless project to deal with but GLWTS
blackbart Posted December 15, 2015 Author Posted December 15, 2015 thanks mate, i did try a can of engine seal, but it didnt work. i'd assume a secondhand sump could be fitted fairly cheaply. i'll see how it goes, if not then i probably will try ebay for spares, but i've had some bad times on ebay with motors. hopefully though, i won't have to scrap it. (touch wood)
gadgetgricey Posted December 15, 2015 Posted December 15, 2015 Does it have the reversing camera fitted (like the Primera's).If so that might be worth the £100 on its own Slartibartfast 1
beko1987 Posted December 15, 2015 Posted December 15, 2015 That is lovely tbh. Same I A:Dont have £100, B: have a sump. What's the engine code for the sump ebay search people may want to do? Is the satnav comically out of date?
blackbart Posted December 15, 2015 Author Posted December 15, 2015 sadly not mate lol.but it does have the annoying reversing sensors though, and the sat nav disc has got to be worth £20 i'm guessing.
blackbart Posted December 15, 2015 Author Posted December 15, 2015 hi mate, ive only used the sat nav a few times, and its always got me there, but i assume it would be ten years out of date.. i'd rather someone get a turn out of it, before it goes to the gallows lol. all offers are invited, even shite ones lol.
Slartibartfast Posted December 15, 2015 Posted December 15, 2015 Apparently a sump can be had on EuroCarParts for £35 of our fine English pounds beko1987 1
beko1987 Posted December 15, 2015 Posted December 15, 2015 It really shouldn't go to the gallows, it looks lovely inside, but I can't afford to help in any way sadly.
wuvvum Posted December 15, 2015 Posted December 15, 2015 Apparently a sump can be had on EuroCarParts for £35 of our fine English poundsAlthough it'll probably turn up and be for a VW Fox or something. beko1987, Cavcraft, Aston Martin and 1 other 4
blackbart Posted December 15, 2015 Author Posted December 15, 2015 lol, we've all been down that road.
blackbart Posted December 15, 2015 Author Posted December 15, 2015 Although it'll probably turn up and be for a VW Fox or something.yes indeed lol
blackbart Posted December 15, 2015 Author Posted December 15, 2015 or a cheap cheap cheap roffle@ £1.50 a go. even if the winner scraps it you'll be quids in, lol.thats if i knew how to do a roffle beko1987 1
Slartibartfast Posted December 15, 2015 Posted December 15, 2015 To do a Roffle you say "I'm going to Roffle" and name the ticket price. Some helpful chap will come along with the number template and post it and then you wait til all the numbers are spoken for. The following Saturday, the person who has the number that matches the bonus ball on the lottery has it.
Slartibartfast Posted December 15, 2015 Posted December 15, 2015 I think time is a factor though, if it's taken in the next couple of days it could be driven away, assuming the sump can be bodged and some more oil shoved in. Otherwise it'll be a trailer or A-frame job.

Slartibartfast Posted December 15, 2015 Posted December 15, 2015 Someone - you or a trusted third party - sets up a paypal account and the payments go into there. Obviously once people have paid you want to avoid having to call the roffle off because then you have to refund everyone's money. I'm new here so I don't know the etiquette around that part very well.
blackbart Posted December 15, 2015 Author Posted December 15, 2015 ok thanks mate, it's something to fall back on if i get no offers, and who wouldn't like to win a car for £1.50. even a scrapper lol Slartibartfast 1

Otherwise it'll be a trailer or A-frame job.Pre-booked MOT? If the place it is parked at bears no qualms about an honest shitter rocking up, having it up on axle stands, changing the sump (I presume there's no oil in it atm), filling back up with oil it doesn't sound too tricky. I;ve done sumps lying on my back in the road before...
Slartibartfast Posted December 15, 2015 Posted December 15, 2015 Didn't think of the old pre-booked MOT ploy. You can tell I'm a rookie How likely is it that the engine will have sustained fatal damage from lack of oil?
blackbart Posted December 15, 2015 Author Posted December 15, 2015 Didn't think of the old pre-booked MOT ploy. You can tell I'm a rookie How likely is it that the engine will have sustained fatal damage from lack of oil?i only drove it a few days when the leak happened. but i went through 5 litres of oil with keeping it topped up. which is why i gave up and parked it up.the neighbours wern't too happy with the mess it made outside my house lol. so fingers crossed, the engine should be ok. but obviously i can't guarantee it. i also forgot to say that i could leave the tax on to get someone home.
Christine Posted December 15, 2015 Posted December 15, 2015 Nice . I'd have 5 tickets ,any random numbers
Cavcraft Posted December 15, 2015 Posted December 15, 2015 Is it still taxed lol to get you home lol? DeeJay and carlo 2
gadgetgricey Posted December 15, 2015 Posted December 15, 2015 How bad is the sump. Massive hole. or a slight weep.Just wondering if it would drive 30 miles with the oil being topped up every five or so?
Christine Posted December 15, 2015 Posted December 15, 2015 Only 30 miles ? put slick 50 in it , it'll run just fine with no oil at all then
blackbart Posted December 15, 2015 Author Posted December 15, 2015 How bad is the sump. Massive hole. or a slight weep.Just wondering if it would drive 30 miles with the oil being topped up every five or so?it does leak a bit, i can't see a massive hole,it's more perforated i'm guessing. but it would definately get you 30 miles with topping up. i probably done 200 miles just keeping it topped up, but the outside of the house wasn't looking too pretty. lol.and yes i forgot to cash the tax back, so it would be taxed to get you home? i just forgot to put it in the original post. just as i forgot to cancel the tax lol.
UltraWomble Posted December 16, 2015 Posted December 16, 2015 sadly not mate lol.but it does have the annoying reversing sensors though, and the sat nav disc has got to be worth £20 i'm guessing.Depends on the year of disc - exact same year and model as my Almera that is, almost tempted for spares for my own.
