BAZ reg Proton for sail

Just seen this, I know there's a thing for them on this forum so thought I'd stick it up.

 

 

It's in Margate, Kent. Contrary to what the seller thinks I don't think you'll have to "be quick" at £650. It was tidy but not perfect, it did have some rust on the back arches, albeit not catastrophic and it could possibly be treated/repainted. The interior looked good though.

Do it, I've done it.  They make an excellent daily.  Bit cheaper would help though.

I had one years ago, was very nice to drive would like to compare one to a Mitsubishi one.

 

This one seems a bit expensive but is an unusual colour

They are starting to look very retro now in a cool way.

I remember Jeremy Clarkson review on top gear lasted about five seconds, he just looked at the car and went 'Naaah'.

GR888 reliable cars IMO.

 

How did Proton not become as popular as Kia? They actually made good looking cars that were nice to drive. I always thought they were 100 times more desirable than a Kia or Hyundai.

I loved my MPi Hatch 1.5 PAS.

 

Fitted a HLBrake from a VloVo hatch. Fitted well.

 

Replaced the 'chewing gum' rubber bobbins from the gear selector cables with solid spacers, nipped up nicely.

Prime candidate for a rollered nato paint job or to be chopped into a pickup, it's still about £500 too dear though.

Current exchange rate suggests it should be at least three and perhaps four.

 

Verdict: needs the stick.
