Family holidays have been taken in the following, amongst others:

Vectra (broke down)

Veg oiled 306 hatchback (slow and smelly)

Partially veg oiled 306 (slow and smelly)

(Allegedly) untaxed BX I had to park away from our hotel and it nearly blew up on the way

A shitty bastard horrible hateful Focus with chavvy alloys and non-working rear windows. I think it used more oil than petrol.

A veg oiled BX 1.7 n/a diesel (which was ace, if not a bit slow to be fair)

Peugeot 405 petrol (nearly killed us due to my stupid driving)

Ford Orion Ghia (fan belt went on way home, ran out of petrol in the middle of nowhere, various things didn't work)

So it's a bit of surprise I'm still married and my kids still talk to me.

Regretted selling this at the time but as we all know, it couldn't have found a better keeper if I'd spent a lifetime trying

Kinda feel guilty about doing several sideways laps of a local roundabout in this just before work started on it - Totally worth it to see the look of terror on peoples faces when confronted by uncharacteristic chod hoonage!

Billy! What about THAT Focarse that was scrapped because it was..well...basically really shit?

Still gets me right in the feels. #neverforget

Ah yes, the one where the scrapyard had to fumigate the crusher afterwards.  I also recall a black Focus estate which sold seemingly within minutes and a Kangoo full of flies and maggots.

The Focus estate is in those pictures somewhere, ditto the maggot Kangoo. The Focus estate went to a car trader bloke and was advertised shortly afterwards with a full MOT.

I'll have to dig deeper in the shitecaves, I weighed two Focii in at different times as I remember biking to get them. There's also a missing 205 automatic amongst a few others.

Billy my good fellow.

On page one, there's a pic of a fine V70.

May I ask your opinion of said vehicle?

When me and Mrs Tet go out in mine, I park it in a car park full of moderns, then when I come back to it, I still think it's the most stylish motor in the car park.

I do however, realise that beauty is in the eye of the beholder etc.

They are stylish alright, still got that 'Volvo thing' about them. It was nice to drive (first car I can remember owning with cruise control) and it felt like a sort of 'Mk3 740' in that it was the same just more modern.

Ahh, you have one up on me there guv'nor. My crooze don't work.

Haven't really looked into it. Should do, I suppose.

Have to say I dont mind those sad face Festers as long as they have the Endura E. I drove my Mums one for years and it stood up to my 'uncompromising' driving no probs.

Billy you really are DA SHIZZLE. Can I ask your average profit/loss ratio over the lot? About evens?

Posted

Probably about 3%, two of which was spent on beer, the other on anti-depressants.
