Highlight of the day was wet Scouser no.2 who was repeatedly advised not to go into this bit of the course and not to try and restart his engine if he stalled in deep water. He didn't listen to either bits of advice and everyone on site came to laugh

I think this is the one that was absolutely minging when I got it, seem to recall having to drive home with all the windows open and spent yonks cleaning it. It was worthwhile though as it came up a treat and drove brilliantly

I swapped a Mercedes TE (with flames painted down the sides) for this. It was an ace little car, had one of my favourite ever car related trips in it when I drove to the Midlands to do the swap with Rodit off RR...

bootrackonea.jpg

newwheels001.jpg

1256 automatic, so a right ball of fire. Not. Boot rack didn't last, you'll be glad to know.

Went to Doncaster I think for this, absolute bargain from a nice lad off RR. It wouldn't start when I got there but soon fired up and drove like a new car. Shouldn't have sold it as was a perfect daily car

The silver 16V stayed as one (I think) the white estate had a 1.9TD conversion and the 4x4 went to N.I

Good God, I still remember the interior in this being Champions League minging. Great success with the Karcher though, it came up like new afterwards, and I would have won 'under seat bingo' forever with the vast array of sticky sweets, crayons, cutlery, Mcdonald's toys and various disgusting detritus. I'm pretty sure this was the worst ever as I recall finding baby or child excrement in it. Some people shouldn't be allowed cars

TransitandwheelsMay09020.jpg

Oh dear. Bought (swapped) this blind and got mugged. Started packing up on the way home, don't recommend doing 25mph flat out on the M56 and using the hard shoulder when trucks were approaching. Managed to stall it by Helsby and had to push it up hill on my jack. An hour's wait for the RAC and my daughter and I spent the time pulling off the 'Pikey Subaru' stickers (not making that up) off it. Took a long while pissing about bleeding injectors and fixinf numerous daft faults, then it was great

Ridiculous 97" back box and spurious BHP claims came with this. Wanted one for ages, couldn't wait to get shut as wasn't nice to drive for more than about 5 miles and EVERYONE wanted to race me. Aside from showing up some tit in a BMW I just couldn't get on with it

Absolutely HEARTED this car. Got it cheap (at the time) and 'modified' it by adding door bottom stripes, snazzy alloys etc. Went everywhere in it, just loved it and still would feature in my top 5 cars. Sold it to a mate who managed to blew it up and scrapped it. Great shame, was genuinely gutted when I heard it's fate

More Transit, one of a few that had a dodgy starter so I just left it running when in use (working) most of the time. I think it was the 'LWB 100' with the single rear wheel and six stud pattern for max carrying capacity. Still wanted to pull at 80-85mph plus, but always seemed to want another gear to go with the 5 it had

If there was ever one car that nearly put me off Vauxhalls for life, it was this thing. Constantly in limp mode, never seemed to drive properly, dashboard lit up like Blackpool's sea front at night after several grams of Columbian Marching powder and I drove it through a puddle once which drove it absolutely haywire. I told the new owner all of it's foibles and exchanged it for a truly, truly horrific Focus which he lied about. He then wanted to swap it back with me because 'my girlfriend doesn't like the Vectra' but having smelled a rat and getting a phone call from Log Book Loans, it looked like he tried to get a loan against it first, then swap back. The LBL bloke was great, really helpful, and all the while me laddo is sending more and more desperate sounding emails. I did the honourable thing and held on to the V5 for weeks and weeks and weeks so he had to wait before he could get a loan...

vectrarear.jpg

I think this was free and I gave it to the boss of Autoshite

CatsandMaxiMarch2010006.jpg

And this is the above mentioned Focus. Absolutely effing awful and was far more hateful in real life

focusghia.jpg

I loved this (sorry, H8RS!) it was the 323SE with the 2.5 engine and was a riot to drive I lied, this was the 1.9 with the winky wanky woo 'oil on garage floor' engine. Couldn't wait to get rid of it.

I used to love spending summer evenings/weekends doing that sort of thing, kept me quiet for ages.

I like these pictures, I used to wheel them out when the 'VWS ARE ACE' brigade used to bang on about how good they are. This was, as the pictures show, absolutely wank, I only got it because there was VALU in the diesel engine

Blueturd005.jpg

Here's another really good/valid reason I abhor VWs. The mobile swimming pool, constant source of hassle, forever breaking down. money pit bag of absolute shit that is the B5 Passat. Highlight* of ownership? Holiday to Skeggy and the turbo packed up after about 12 miles. Anyone want to guess how 'great'; that journey was? Mind you, I still laugh when I remember some VDUB hipster type started telling me how great they are when we arrived at Pontins. I spent about ten minutes lambasting them, all other VWs,and anything and everything to do with them going into great details about it's myriad problems. he genuinely just sort of stood there open mouthed and unable to escape my completely OTT insane tirade and just said something like 'fair enough fella' at which point I said something like 'Fair enough? Fair e-fucking-nough? You can have the bastard if you want it, I'll swap it for absolutely anything else that will get us home when the holiday's over' I didn't see him again for the rest of the holiday, maybe it was his last day?

Passatnov2010008.jpg

I think I swapped this bag of bollocks for a trailer tent. One was a damp, windy, wobbly miserable shit tip for the elderly and incontinent, the other was a Conway Suncamp

ToyotaDec2010005.jpg

INTERLUDE

Peckforton, I think and the first time we let Sausages off his lead. He did really well for about ten minutes, then the appeal of coming back when called lost it's shine so he just pegged it for a few hundred yards until a couple [pushing a buggy managed to grab him for us

olliefishtanksautositetshirtetc007.jpg

INTERLUDE OVER...

...where were we? Oh, something about a trailer tent. Well, that went and was exchanged for this, which hit FULL HOUSE and the must (not) have accessory catalogue in 1991 or something. Bit of a sad tale with this, it went to an absolutely fantastic lad from another forum who very sadly passed away a couple of months later, having that dreadful 'big c' disease. RIP mate

vectratdescortcabJan2011014.jpg

Happier times now, to me this exuded (modern) Autoshite. I genuinely spent ages chasing the lad to sell me this and he eventually relented. It was a mega early 'N' plate with an Isuzu diesel engine, ex-taxi with 250,000 or something on the clock. It drove and looked exactly how you'd expect a 250,000 mile, ex-taxi diesel Vectra would do and I loved it for that alone. I think a leaking power steering pump and other things saw it off, what a shame, it'd be class to own it now

vectratdescortcabJan2011009.jpg

vectratdescortcabJan2011012.jpg

Now we're cooking, this thing was absolutely amazing. It was stupidly quick (3.0 pez) to the point  I (standby for seemingly INTERNET BULLSHIT COMMENT) was knocking on the back door of a Porsche on the way home who couldn't shake me off. The back wheel arch shit out quite badly which was a shame, the car was just fabulous from the best colour they came in to the leather and the power etc. Sold to a char-I-dee 'Garden gnome To Rome type racer lad. He must have had the best car to go in. This must be in my top ten 'shouldn't have sold it' list.

Omega30Feb2011008.jpg

Omega30Feb2011006.jpg

This was another quality buy.  Dirt cheap as either not running, or not running properly. Turned outa  pipe to the carb was on the wrong thing or something. Belting car, went to someone who was going to re-shell an XR2 or something which to me was a right waste of a real cracker of a car

Vintage Razors B, or artisan modern DE and SE razors - buy wisely and they can be a real money spinner.

Watched one go yesterday for just shy of £400. My best purchase - a 2009 iKon - made ten times what it cost me when I sold it a couple of years later - and they take up less space than a car.

Ive bought both prototype Sseygus razors and being sent another one to try out and review - then they will be wrapped up and stowed away until its time to eBay them on for a nice bit of coin in a couple of years.

I never had you down as a pussy person though.
