Junkman Posted November 29, 2015 Posted November 29, 2015 Junkman fuel costs need/deserve a whip round? Kind offer, thanks for that. But no. I'm not really poorer this morning than I was yesterday evening. Tickman, Richard, CGSB and 7 others 10
Split_Pin Posted November 29, 2015 Posted November 29, 2015 A very kind deed from Junkman there, hat tipped.

andrew e Posted November 29, 2015 Posted November 29, 2015 PSA gearboxes are quite rugged, the linkages aren't. I wonder if there are problems with Saxo gearboxes due to the ownership profile.Definately. Also see Zafira, Scenic, etc. Lacquer Peel 1
Conrad D. Conelrad Posted November 29, 2015 Posted November 29, 2015 Another success story from anonymous user, Cavcraft, beko1987 and 14 others 17

ruffgeezer Posted November 29, 2015 Posted November 29, 2015 Shame. I was hoping you were going to draw the superhero JunkMan. I'm not sure that'd work, I can't help but imagine his gentleman's appendage in a sling and a hint of that's-not-fake-tan in his complexion... Junkman 1
bub2006 Posted November 29, 2015 Author Posted November 29, 2015 Mr geezer you have pm re. Tomorrow. Thanks muchly
PhillipM Posted November 29, 2015 Posted November 29, 2015 PSA gearboxes are quite rugged, the linkages aren't. I wonder if there are problems with Saxo gearboxes due to the ownership profile.BE's and ML's are bombproof. MA's aren't. Here's my last one: And another: Neither of which were being abused at the time, just rolled off the motorway, downshifted and spat the diff out both times. That's why they command 3 figures on yeebay, good ones are sought after. And there's a lot of knackered ones being sold as good - if they won't let you pop the end cover off for a look then walk away, it took me 9 months to find a good replacement after that one, the rest were worn beyond saving and would have shit themselves shortly after. Lacquer Peel Posted November 29, 2015 Posted November 29, 2015 What's the timeline of the gearbox codes? I'm not too familiar with the codes. Are the MA 'boxes interchangeable with the hardier versions?
PhillipM Posted November 29, 2015 Posted November 29, 2015 You can put a later BE4R box onto a TU engine but it needs some work, common mod for rallycars. Lacquer Peel 1
Taff Posted November 30, 2015 Posted November 30, 2015 I've just got out the cab and stood on a street corner in a minions wooly hat looking slightly suspect. 40 quid in taxi fares alone tonight. That would have bought the bits needed for vectra. Oh well such is life. Awaiting the great junkmans arrival now. Its chuffing cold here! May I recommend breakdown recovery for any future journeys? https://www.autoaidbreakdown.co.uk/
