I paid £95 less than this for a non-running un-MOTd 214 SEi with no radiator and knackered tyres, what a dick

Unsuccessfully avoided this thread because temptation.

If I did, the 220 would have to go. Not sure I can do that at the moment.

Hmm...

Swap? I shouldn't, but always wanted to try this 220...

Oh no, don't you dare.

No.

No no no.

Ok, maybe.  I'm off out now for a couple of hours so I have a bit of time to think about it!

Swap?

I just knew that'd be John's next post. :D

Looks like there will be a Milton Keynes-based swap happening next Sunday, how exciting.  Slight tinge of regret that once again the 220 leaves me without the bodywork and head gasket repair I've been wanting to do for the last 2 years but it will get another shiter on the logbook and I think John is probably a better person to have it than me at the moment as, like my long-suffering 940, it's not getting much attention as I haven't the time to put to it.

I'm looking forward to trying the 1.4 K-series, I learnt to drive in my Dad's 416 HHR company car and it was a brilliant car to drive, I'm not expecting it to be as good on the motorway but it should be a good little runaround and a good combination with the 2.3 Volvo.

Bit revvy on the motorway but otherwise incredibly good fun.  Pootle or rev the bollocks off it, they don't seem to mind.

Currently parked at Eastlake Harvester, JohnK is less than 30 minutes away and it's not raining. As usual the 220 lapped up the miles, I suspect the journey home might be a little less relaxing but a lot more beige.

Team 3 had returned to base with a set of wheels, thanks again Phil & John!

I feel like we missed something here.  Who were the third team?  Was this a three-way-swap?  Does anyone have a Renault 20 yet?

Posted

It's really quite simple, now John's, ex-Phil's AS slag Rover had secreted in it a set of wheels for me (aka team 3). This meant that when John passed the now ex-John now Phil's 214 over, he would get in return Phil's now ex-Phil currently John's AS slag 220 with the wheels in for me, aka team 3.

With John now piloting his Rover 220 (ex-Phil's, now John's AS slag) northward he would meet me, aka team 3 with the wheels so that I could return to base with them.

Clear?

So... everyone has R8s and spare wheels now?  And there's a do at Chez Ruffgeezer and I'm not invited?  Gotcha.

Lovely stuff. Was fancying this myself but the time is rong (etc etc usual excuses), hopefully looking to get into some shite early-mid next year.
