Theres a Cityrover and lots of Kas in my local scrappy. I know nothing of either, but I was amazed at the rust on the Fords, one had no metal left around the filler cap - whats that all about? The Cityrover looked just the same as most of the other cars, having another vehicle dropped on your roof is a great leveller.

My boss asked me to do some MOT welding on his daughters KA.

It all looked pretty good but i took the back wheel off (filler cap side) and had a look. There was a small hole on the inner arch which very quickly with just the use of my fingers turned into a much bigger hole. So big infact that i pulled most of the inner arch out and still couldn't get to any sound metal. It just kept crumbling away.

I told him that i cant weld to weetabix so he scrapped it

I don't really know why they go so bad though

Isn't there foam inside that panel which is great for hanging onto water and keeping the metal damp?

Early Toyota Avensis, Most Corollas, Nissan Almera, most Korean Chevrolets, some other stuff I've forgotten

All the fun of being trapped in the dayroom at a stroke recovery unit - same colour schemes inside (grey!), same smell (a sort of warm plasticky smell) same level of stimulation. Deliberately designed to sap any joy from your day and leave you with a creeping feeling of impending misery and doom, seeping ever more deeply into your every pore. And when I rented a Chevrolet Aveo a few years back it broke down so they are all cursed in my book!

Lagunas I quite like by comparison and I've never seen an MG6 to my knowledge. PT Cruisers I get mixed up with Porsche Cayennes....they seem to appeal to the same tastes

I've always thought CityRovers look smart enough but they would have felt old fashioned in 1995 let alone 2005. A car that probably did deserve the panning it got at the time.

Would, of course.

Jag X Type

Jag X type DIESEL is a bit bloody awful, as is the 2.1 petrol. The 4wd V6 ones are nice to drive. I'd rather like a 3.0 estate.

There's at least one member on here with a Peugeot 307.

It's a petrol but we tease him as it sounds like diesel.

That's just the guttural roar of its immense 4 cylinder engine...
