This is one of the few photos I have of my father (died when I was very small in a hang gliding accident, not making that up)

I don't know what either of these vehicles are, my mother could probably give me a clue if I asked her, I suppose

Edit: taken some time in the late 70s (he died in '79)

So it is .. I thought his right  leg was a running board.

I've just spent an embarrassing amount of time looking at Google images trying to match that protrusion to the lines of the various image results before figuring out it was actually jeans.

I like how wing-mirrors were clearly some kind of ridiculous unnecessary accessory that he couldn't be bothered with.

Yet he did go in for the triple-pack wiper spoilers. You don't see those very often these days.

Dad is on the front page of that website, I'm not clever enough to do pictures when I'm posting on my phone :o

GNNNNAH! I've always, always wanted a Morgan 3 wheeler. Gotta be a Matchless too (of course).

Slightly off-topic, but here we have a v-twin superbike, who's registration number references a v-twin superbike, but many years in the future. What are the chances of that?

PS It's the picture of the Vincent, with reg number KTM...

So I'm not the only one to notice that!

Btw I've always wanted to know if my dad's Black Shadow still exists (rumoured to be in a museum in the US) but I've no idea how to go about finding out. My dad doesn't know the chassis number, sadly. I've even asked on the Vincent forum but no dice.

loosely on the topic of old photos and family cars, here's one of my younger self, clearly impressed by my dads new Dastun Cherry 100a

and he's a pic of the man himself, I'm not sure if one of the motors pictured belongs to him but the chubby toddler in his arms certainly looks familiar (Thaxted, 1971)

a bit of googling brought up a couple of pics showing the same scene over the years, with period chod

No pics but most of my dads cars had been Ford's, first memory in a car of his was a red mk1 capri, then loads of other Fords. Used to buy loads from auction and sell em on!

As he got a bit older he became a right tight old bastard and would drive anything as long as it drove. I remember him coming hom with a mk3 ttansit minibus with 5 seats in it, back doors hanging off. He got it for 50 quid he fixed doors and used it for a good bit. I used to walk to school rather get a lift in the "spaz bus"

Had a horrible fucking Yugo heap of shite in a burgandy which was awful, think he paid about £20 for it!

Last i remember him having before he died was a Fiat 127? I think it was a tiny little thing. Again bloody horrendous
