And seeing as it wasn't there yesterday, it has been done whilst it was parked on my bloody drive. I just don't get it. Had the kids from down the road coming up my drive to take snow of my car on Sunday....whats wrong with their parents friggin cars FFS.Footprints all up the drive when I got home, they didn't do it while I was there though - just no respect for other peoples property and it's the parents fault as far as I'm concerned.

Thats exactly how I feel. I know the rest of the world thinks i am odd for polishing & cherishing sub-£1000 cars, maybe I should be meh about it. No point having it blown in now, because it's due some minor rust removal & touching up in the arches soon anyway - but that's on hold ue to funding... so now I have to put up with this for several months, I'm sure these wankers would be less inclined if someone scratched their faces down to the bone with a housekey.

Always seems to happen when you've been hit in a bout of misfortune in other respects. Shortly after some numbnut pig shagging local took my Merc 190 in broad daylight, I was forced to use my only available legal car, my Datsun 100A wagon as a daily driver - not ideal with drum brakes all round and bearly enough power to keep up with motorway traffic. A week later some tosser had decided that slashing the tyres on the little car was a great idea. Fortunately if I had to choose between tyre slashing or keying, then slashed tyres would win over paintwork damage - I can easily see how the constant reminder of some twat-tards handywork would serve as a constant reminder of anger and resentment towards the goodwill of mankind. Pog, for what its worth, it might be worth reporting to the fuzz. They'll do nothing about it, but at least speak to them - they'll know the incident has taken place and could possibly help track down the inbred gap tooth little shitehawks, should anymore anti social incidents happen in your area.

Hmmm. 10 days ago the local retards- high on an obnoxious alcohol mix elected to tip my early Series 1 Fiat 127 onto its side, in the middle of the road in the early hours. First I know is the rozzers banging on the door- complete with a towtruck-ready to drag it off the middle of the road- on to his truck.To then deliver it 15ft to my drive-£150.Despite being high on drugs (seems I've a doseof bronchial pneumonia-or some such nonsense) I hauled it upright with a Saab-and neighbours, and pushed it home.Absolutely covered in miscreant fingerprints where they had tried to nick it- rather obvious in the frost. Rozzer reaction- ''thats sorted then-we'll never catch them -thanks for your time. Crime number in the post-victim aid etc etc''.So- smashed sidewindow (now replaced) & scratched dented all down one side means an inevitable spell in the shop on a''non economic'' repair.Bet they dont even recall doing it- although there has been a distinct deficit of teenage children hanging around the fleet recently.....On the upside? £150 saved on the truck paid for a LOT of baseball bats- prominently displayed....

Glad it's not just me that gets pissed off with this. This sort of thing really gets to me.I live in what would be considered to be a fairly decent area - suburban semi on what is thought to be a reasonably nice estate. We get a few of the local kids hanging about and whilst we don't get anything significant in the way of malicious damage, as they are constantly playing football in the street, balls keep getting kicked into the cars which inevitably leaves small marks each time, or they run over (mainly my neighbours) garden, totally fucking up the plants which must piss him off. Its just a basic lack of respect and really fucks me off. Other night they were throwing snowballs at houses and I know it doesn't do any harm but it still lacks respect. Through summer they will doubtless be outside talking / shouting at each other for ever. I think I'm getting grumpier as I get older and I really really want to move house cos it really does piss me off sometimes.

S'why I'm selling my Type3. I'll never be able to park it here, too many bored teenage (and younger) kids who think they're tough, and need to fuck with people's property to prove it. It doesn't even surprise me now to walk down the street and see footprints over car roofs, smashed windows, scratches and all that.So the only alternative is to bung it in storage, costing 30-50quid a month (so maybe £600 for the year), to never be arsed to go and drive it. Probably three or four shows a year it'd be used for.If it was on the driveway, I'd use it every weekend and maybe more. Every 'retro' car I've had has always been mistreated by locals and it does get to you, you lose mojo and the scratches and trim never gets replaced etc.

Hey some time ago a group of yobbo kids were walking across a main road in such a way that would have meant I had to slow down, however being in a great big heavy car I felt that might not be required. So I kept plodding along at steady 30 and the two that were ballsy enough to keep walking into the road had to jump back into the middle in a somewhat slapstick fashion and shout abuse, it was great. I'll not muck you around pog, I probably want more than it's worth because I know it has potential, and then I'll probably bottle out of the deal anyway. Basically it pains me to see it sat there gathering cobwebs (which is why I've stopped driving over to 'the barn' to see it), but I has no cash to do the little jobs it needs, like the seats attaching to the floor. Where I live in West Central Scotchland - there's a mild cultural prejudice against the old, bohemian type of thing - probably coz only a couple of generations ago many ppl came from fairly poor surroundings - so anything symbolic of success i.e. new, is en vogue and any thing else is a symbol of failure - well, this is my theory why fine old rides get targeted - either that or it's simply because it stands out..I think it's plain jealousy - some people can't handle the fact that those of us who don't need to be part of the flock of slaves in their mad fashion frenzy can do so. If you choose an old car they are testing your conviction - the answer is to show how much you don't give a shit and slap a new set of mad alloys on the car so they (whoever) see it in future. Either that or run mains voltage through the body shell.. I was amazed to hear a couple of years back that old cars (well pre- transponder ignition cars) were a prime target for theft. I have a fairly clandestine immobiliser in both of my shiters for this very reason.What does insurance give us with regard to key scratches? (nowt?)
