"K"-reg 1.1 Metro thing. Truly Vile. Why? Because allegedly anyone rocking up in their own / non-dual-controlled car at our test centre automatically got a fail, 'cos the examiner was an arse. An orange B-reg Skoda Estelle with only one mirror was not going t go down well, was it....

A 2004 Renner Clio 1.5DCi, a decent little car from an era before "superminis" were gigantic. (Feb 2004)

A 1986 Nissan Micra 1.0L. Curiously, despite passing my test in a Japanese car I had no interest in them at all for about another 8 years until I bought a Datsun 160J SSS. I went straght from passing in a Micra to using a 1956 Austin A35 as my first car

A C reg Mazda 323 - back in 1986.

So that's why you wanted to buy mine then?

1979 Volvo 343 DL 3 door in Gold. KGK 148T. It was my mother's car, and as soon as I passed my test, I got onto the M4 and drove to Bristol and back twice from Slough. Just for the practice. A week later I had my very own Hillman Super Minx in Azure Blue with the white stripe, just like Pogs very own current one. I took all my official lessons in a 1600 GL 4 door Mk2 Escort, in Terracotta.....W plate from memory!!! One of the very last.....Vinyl roof too!!!!

X reg Fiat Punto in Dec 2002. Nearly my 5th anniversary of passing. Next month will be 2 car related benchmarks at the same time. turning 25 on the 2nd equals cheaper insurance & 5 Yrs of driving on the 19th.I was a bit slack & didn't get round to driving till 20 yrs 1 day old. Passed 1st time after 3 weeks of intensive driving. I did start originally when I was 18 but gave up after about 18 lessons as things didn't work out with my instructor shall we say...... :x

I started in a 90 bhp Golf TDi, then the bloke upgraded to a 140 bhp version... quick thing. Afterwards I had to learn that normal cars don't drive off when you let the clutch out without even touching the accelerator! Learnt that the hard way in a 1990 Transit somewhere in France, when my friends in an Espace saw me come back towards them when the lights turned green. Later on that tour I reversed the Transit into the Espace's nose on a dark narrow road while trying to find the Travelodge - they were behind me and suddenly turned into a side road, couldn't see their lights anymore... boom!
