Taff Posted October 9, 2015 Posted October 9, 2015 Fiat Mirafiori squad car. That's job satisfaction, right there

flat4alfa Posted October 9, 2015 Posted October 9, 2015 Just to annoyingly answer a question that's already been answered CGSB 1
sierraman Posted October 9, 2015 Posted October 9, 2015 I'd love to know what happened to the Colt police car. Imagine chancing across that in an old lock up!
Cheggers Posted October 9, 2015 Author Posted October 9, 2015 Was this at the police show in Pompey? Sent from my SM-G900F using TapatalkYes officer.

robinmasters Posted October 9, 2015 Posted October 9, 2015 You live at the top of a water slide AICMYFP.I always wondering about driving these to the event and impersonating a police officer.Current police officers look like a SWAT team, without the guns obviously, and drive <3 year old cars. If you turn up like this in a be-striped Monty you'll probably be fine, providing the blue lights are covered/removed.
Matt Posted October 9, 2015 Posted October 9, 2015 You live at the top of a water slide AICMYFP. I always wondering about driving these to the event and impersonating a police officer. Yep, that's the first thing that came to my mind, too. I spoke to a chap at a classic car show a while back who had a Granada police replica and he put an oversized, blank fridge magnet down the sides. That said those laws were probably written in a time before older cars were common enough for people to consider doing this sort of thing. I think you'd have to find a copper having a pretty bad day to do you for it though. I reckon most would probably give you a proper ticking off but not actually book you. You can carry swords and all sorts of medieval weapons so long as you are going to a re-enactment or video shoot of some description so I wonder if the same logic could be applied to classic police car replicas.
sheffcortinacentre Posted October 9, 2015 Posted October 9, 2015 you have to cover blue lights & insignia's (police word) stripes don't matter. few years back was bringing a swb mk2 transit back from a pop video in the early hours from luton to Sheffield full of the gear to make it into a cop van & kept thinking how do you explain its contents when everyone you can ring will be in bed.
Cheggers Posted October 9, 2015 Author Posted October 9, 2015 Interestingly, they arrived in convoy with lights & sirens blaring (on the public roads) with a "proper" Police escort. As they left they all had insignia & lights covered.
Eddie Honda Posted October 9, 2015 Posted October 9, 2015 If we're talking unsuitable police vehicles This pic always cracks me up: http://www.moyvane.com/moyvane-memories/sergeant-jim-groarke-and-garda-john-behan-with-a-fancy-police-car/
