Hello... what's the MG ZR REALLY like then?

So.. Viewed it. Interior was a bit tatty, the rear arch and front wing a bit rusty but other than that seemed OK. Coolant wasn't pretty though and there's no history of an HG being done.. It'd be a bit foolish to pursue wouldn't it? Suffice to say I've made a low ball offer

There's 11 months MOT. I figure if it breaks I'll use my mk4 4motion while I repair it on my drive. It's only an MG..how hard can it be if the gasket lets go eh?

I've never driven a facelift one. I heard the gearshift was wank due to the selector setup not being optimised for the IB5 gearbox, is that true??

Not sure if that's the reason, but yes, awful. Very stiff.

With a bit of common sense and listening to people in the know (such as the esteemed Mssrs. Bollox and Cade amongst others, the head gaskets seem fine. It's when people bodge them together with no mechanical knowledge for lowest possible cost that the inevitable bridging happens.
