After the success of the initial GLF meet in York I put it to you chaps that we do the following:

Crail Raceway 9.30am Sunday 25th October.

Turn up,

£10 to get in

£15 per car

Track opens at 10am, and runs til 4pm.

there are NO big grown up races- so you can run all day- I usually manage 15-20 passes.

location details here: http://www.crailraceway.co.uk/map.php

I'm also considering whether we run a sub 300 quid competition- buy it, turn up and see who is fastest?

I'd love to say yes, but with work and other stuff the best I can say is mibbe.
If I was coming I'd drive up Saturday afternoon/evening stay in a hotel and drive back Sunday afternoon.

I like the sound of that, but possibly after the GLF club is a bit more established, or you run the risk of being the only one taking part.

It's my birthday the weekend before and it looks as if I'll be spending it looking at sodding kitchens, so this should redress the balance a bit. I'll not be racing though.

The Volvo has started making a funny noise under hard acceleration. If I manage to find out what it is and it passes its MOT I might race.

Does it suffer from the Edam-hewn top engine steady* bush that the petrol 850's are plagued with?

Nevermind this diagnosis guff- get the pleasure wagon signed up!

Might over-night Pleasure Wagon camping* be available somewhere nearby?

Anywhere quietish will do, I'm self-sufficient apart from needing somewhere to take a dump at breakfast time...

If so, there's a good chance I'll make it. I promise to be the slowest and make everyone else feel better :)

Missed York as I'd intended to get the Biscuit Tin welded but that hasn't happened either so fuck it, I'm going this time.

Besides, TU engines aren't hard to find.

EDITED TO ASK;

Do they provide a helmet or do you just bring a decent sized pot?

No requirement for a skid lid. think you'd need to bring your own

C'mon people!

Right I am tempted by this.

Is it feasible to drive up, do some runs then drive home? Would the car need anything special doing to it?

I'd give the car a once over-make sure brakes/steering and tyres are in good condition.

I've done 3 lots of it (58 runs so far) with no issues in my rank taxi.

I'll cart some tools etc up too:)

I would be most impressed to see an Allegro go down the strip!
