Yes, they should be 4x100 the same, but I vote leave it standard.

I would but the trims are a bit wibbly wobbly and won't sit on the rim properly in places. Plus the tyres are getting a little tired.

Just fitted the replacement passenger side door mirror. The one on there was electrically adjusting, this one is the proper manual adjust. Took all of 5 mins. Big Yay.

Goodness it is cold and very wet outside, yuk.

Yo Ken I really enjoyed seeing this at the weekend. Classy interior and looks good as a 3 door I'd say. If I didn't already have a 3 door hatchback I'd be well up for one of these. Reckon the convertibles are v nice too.

Cheers :)

I think they look lovely as a 3 door, almost a little sporty looking. This is such a nice little car :)

I fitted an LED to the dash clock and light was forthcoming. sadly the focus of said light was too limited to light up the entire clock.

Halfords provided the correct 12v/1.2W bulb and holder. Ref 509T.

Clock now illuminates perfectly :)

I am presuming that the headlight bulbs on Rover are H4's?

Plan to lob in some Osram Nightbreakers unless someone knows of a better bulb.

If anyone needs a passenger side electric door mirror. I have one going spare.

Just toying with the idea john, nothing in stone. We are mere custodians anyhow :)

I am a serialist fickle person (like others on here lol).

I must admit that I am approaching car owning perfection, I just need to scratch that Alfa itch though. Then my bucket list wantage achieved.

Ordered a set of replacement hatchback struts from eBay. Car details checked, they even had a piccie of the correct type in the advert. Easy.

They sent a pair that had screw in fasteners. Hmm. Messages sent. Can you send up pictures of what you have on the car. Done. Hmm. can you send us pictures of what we sent. Hmm.

Can you send us the part numbers from your struts. Hmm.

Sorry, we don't have anything bearing those numbers in stock. Arrgghhh.

I have sent a message and a picture to another seller.

Not that impressed so far. They are fairly standard push on fitment with a metal securing clip. Not one off specials FFS.

Other than that the Little Rover is still lovely :)

This is what they sent me:

Ken, you should of just phoned up SGS Engineering in.Derbycestershire and spoke to Seb.

I got my Volvo struts with the correct fittings from there and they also managed to re-gas my 1977 struts on GS bootlid. A lot less fannying around.

Cheers mate. TBH I didn't think it would be that bloody difficult.

These are quite common fitting after all. I have one more option but will try your chap if it goes pear-shaped.

It should be simple.....but.

Aftermarket parts catalogues are pants, so I tend either to check the details over the phone, send pics, or go down the factors and point at part in hand then tell them no to look it up on the computer and give me the big paper catalogue.

Struts tend to die after 10 years, but sometimes can last shorter/longer.

Citroen GS catflap is held open by a pair of 220N (Newtons) struts. These were successfully re-gassed as mentioned and are still holding 4 or 5 years later.

Volvo 343 uses 350N struts which are longer. They couldn't re-gas, so sorted out a new pair. Now I have to make sure my head isn't in the way of the 'gate as it'll smash me in the chin.

If a re-gas isn't a goer, then they'll say so. If it is, it'll have a month guarantee - they'll credit the re-gas cost against new. http://www.sgs-engineering.com/gas-struts/re-gassing-service

Anyway, plug over. ;)

They are ace. I love this car.

New struts ordered from SGS. Bloody brilliant service.

If anyone sees reports of a lardy chap being catapulted into orbit from the vicinity of North London then do not worry. It is me checking the oresum powah of the new struts.

Struts fitted with much easiness. Tailgate lifting prowess re-established!

Awesome news! Good to hear of another happy customer and you can put the broom handle away now.

Were they a good price? (I like dealing with companies that know what they are selling and give good service - saves fannying around.)

About forty something quid. Next day delivery and no hassle.

I now know how to sort out my dim dash clock because mine is just the same as everyone else's in that regard.  They really are stupendously good.  I reckon the giffer pilots knew something we didn't when they bought them en masse.

Yeah, new bulb from Halfords and all is bright again. The digital clock illumination in the Rover is very agreeable now.
