Honda CRV (2000) - Hooverage!

It does tbh. The eml came back on yesterday in the dry, so rather than new ht leads and dizzy module it will be spark plugs and new cheap cat, then clean the 02 sensors up whilst their off and see what happens.

eml WILL come back on with a cheap cat . Does it pass mot emissions test?

Cleaning the sensors wont do anything either

Flew through its last MOT a month ago with no advisories.

Only mention cleaning the sensors as a few posts on CRV forums point to water ingress on manky connectors causing eml issues, although this is looking increasingly unlikely...

Yeah, my wife ran an Avensis over 4.5 years and 80k miles (to 205k) with a P0420 code and it was fine, although in the end I fitted a metal spacer (eBay job) to move the second lambda out of the exhaust flow which knocked it off. Just live with it and change oil/use Cataclean/get engine nice and hot/remove air filter at every MOT.

get some black electrical tape and stick it over the eml.

worry about it a week before the mot hth

Do garages check for plugged in obd modules during the test? It could sit there with torque open and ready to kill the code the second it came on then

Isnt it? Always thought it was nowadays, been advising against removing the bulb as suggested by an old school colleague as i thought it needed to cycle on and off, then remain off. That helps matters then!

Mountains out of molehills beko ! Light needs to be there . Fuck me I'm gonna put the tape over the light myself in a minute 😄

Then lick your eyes !

Ill give you the address where its parked and you could lick gareths eyeballs. Dont forget to approach him from behind, he loves that!

Think there was talk of failing over ecu lighta while back but it didn't come into play.

Mine comes on every 2 weeks or so, car runs fine so i just switch it off. Before mot time i just check there are no codes pending. Passes emissions every mot, and get noted how clean, soild, rust free it is for its year etc.

I met up with Gareth at my mums as its in the middle of where we both live, and we did some fettling to the CRV

First up, cabin filter!

Henry came and sorted everything out

Then we put it all back together Then the postman bought the brand new cabin filter I bought on thurs as a surprise, even going as far as getting to posted to mums, then forgot about... bloody royal mail, will fit it one lunchtime, we know how it all comes apart now!

The picnic table is brilliant

We then got another hoover out and gave it the best hoover out its had in 4 years. Even Eva helped

It then got bloody hot and I neglected to take any more pictures but everything was vacced off, I cleaned all the glass inside and out, and all the rubber seals around the rear glass hatch. We had fun with the Honda fire extinguisher which still works well despite having a best before of 2006, put the jack back properly and stashing the bike hanger thing under the boot floor.

I then had a drive in it and can confirm it is a lovely thing to drive. Really makes you just lay back and relax, it felt more at home cruising at 40 than pressing on.

We then gave the ZX a good hoover out, again no pics, and were done by lunchtime. A good day all round! It's in Kent now, and I presume the drive down was fine as I;ve not heard otherwise!
