Shame to see it going after all the work you've done. I hope you've bought something even better to replace it with!

Damn, if I wasn't on the oterside of the world I would be pre-booking an MOT right now and looking up train tickets. Surely for someone who can stick metal together with a sparkle stick, this is a potential BARG.

Where is this?

Thinks 'this would be perfect for my daughter to learn to drive in'

Obviously I am stupid  :-)

Just how much welding is needed? Please post some pics to scare me off, I already have enough cars I'm in danger of never finishing.

Hah, you guys :)

Welding: chassis leg patch, boot floor patch, footwell patch. Sills have been done in the past but poorly and need cutting off and new metal fitting to do a proper job. The sill panels can be obtained from the Dolomite Club easily and are pretty inexpensive for what they are. The other stuff is flat metal or basic 90 degree bends.

Looks like it is a go'er with Mr Duke however, but if anything changes. Your daughter could do much worse that a 1300 Triumph. They are proper cars and I did my driving lessons and test in one. :)

I have a strong love for almost any car with a 1300 engine.  It's just a great size for a smallish heap.

I agree. The 1300 Triumph engine is a strong, flexible engine.

It is a lovely simple design which is perfect for engine scaredy cats like me and it is also actually rather open to tuning.

Back in the day, the 1300cc car was so plentiful. None of this 1.0 malarkey.
