Say Hello To Ally The Almera :P

Well as you may have gathered, I've gone Japo-whyaye, so it's time for some photos of it, taken about half an hour ago. The flippin thing is fully loaded with toys, including 4 airbags!!!! The more I look at this car, the more of a bargain it feels, yeah, it's far from perfect, but it's been well maintained, and the infamous crossmember has been done. There are a couple of rust spots on the bootlid, and one on the wing, plus a minor parking ding has pushed the ns front wing in a tiny bit, but otherwise I find it hard to fault

The dash-mounted CD changer is novel. I've never seen such a thing before :)

Grim-looking plastics, but certainly well equipped! Stay on top of the rust and it should serve you pretty well.

Looks like a winner.

"AUTO METAL", does it play Metallica on every start?

A mate had one of these, he went through 5 gearboxes in a single year. Although I think that was more down to his driving than a problem with the car as it had it's original gearbox at 60,000+ miles when he first got it!

that car looks even better in the metal than it sounded on paper.

there was one of those daft hooks on the dash of the k12 micra I owned, I could never work out quiet what it was for, and now I know!!

x-reg, so whats that, 2000?

does that mean its cheapish car tax, ££140 or there abouts for the year? (and not subject to the OMGCO2's bumrape?)

top buyage, sir!

It's in the pre bum rape road tax, its an early 2001 example, going to be so nice commuting in something quiet and comfy

I had one as a courtesy car a few years ago and quite liked it.

It was brisk and reasonably quiet and comfortable.

You iz winnar, but where canI get a curry hook from?

Volvo did a 3 disc changer and Ford did a 6 disc one IIRC.

I like how the middle rear seatbelt buckle retracts into the headliner and stays in place via a magnet, its a pretty well thought out car
