Le Mans - A place where you can see heroes weep

Eurosport has adverts. That's annoying. You've found a free stream. That's also annoying. I'm tuned into Radio Le Mans with Eurosport pics. My laptop is seriously struggling to cope though! And the audio is slightly ahead of the video stream.

Aye. Some very interesting moments. Usually when Eurosport chooses to cut to a break - which is why I'm sticking with Radio LM. At least I can keep listening while huge corporations attempt to tempt me.

Audi crashes at 200mph, carries on, drives to the pits whilst still overtaking some cars. They fit a new nose cone and he's back out before they're cleared the debris away.

Pretty impressive. That was a properly nasty moment.

Yup, keep the barbecues in the campsite pls, Porsche.

3 abreast in the GT Pros...has anyone told them they've got until tomorrow?

Other side attractions...new Alpine road car might be ready after all: clicky . Ford to comeback next year?

Sitting here with Le Mans reminds me of the busy final week getting the last of the spares painted and the slightly intoxicated dash out in the van with paint still drying in the back!

I do miss working motorsport sometimes.

That #9 Aldi keeps nibbling at the tail of the #17 Porker now.

This is going to get interesting after dark.

There seems to be a healthy dose of animosity between those two VAG divisions.

I'm loving the GT class action. For a start, they look more like actual cars. Secondly, they're practically swapping paint.

It's more like touring cars on steroids, isn't it? Ace...

I love GTs, especially how this septic £3.99 novelty shop article pulls away from that posh British private school run chod.

Add the Italians, always ready for a fight. Until it starts.

But for me it's about LMP1. This is what is technically possible. They are almost as fast as cars were back in 1970,

but need half the fuel.

That'll be Davidson waking up. #12 car's doing okay too.

Wonder if someone's got a Porsche death beam, like in Cars 2?

Well, I seem to have found a Eurosport feed with no adverts or commentary, so I've now got race sounds that match the video, with Radio Le Mans coverage over the top. Working well. Sadly, I missed an hour for dinner - apparently racing doesn't count as mutually acceptable telly...

Phone + pizza = uninterrupted enjoyment.

Came back in time for Porsche reprising Audi. Jeez, they're like two spoilt kids. What one gets, the other has to have too.

I'm still on Eurosport Player Junkman - but they currently have two feeds from Le Mans. One was playing a catch-up programme about an hour ago but is probably back to live feed. Presume that's actually what's being broadcast on telly.

We've bought Eurosport for the day and are streaming it in HD. If you watch on Eurosport 2 you have no mindless uneducated commentary :-)

I'm wussing out for the night. I look forward to seeing what state everything is in tomorrow.

#18 Porker went greenlaning!

At Mulsanne corner.

Actually, that's not the first time it's been off. It had a bit of a brush with a tyre wall earlier at Arnage.

It's the last placed LMP1 Porsche though.

They hiabed it back onto the tarmac and it seems to run OK.

Edit: It went to the pits at race speed, they merely did some cleaning of the air ducts, swapped the nose and sent it back out.

Wouldn't be right if there wasn't an OMGODADVERSEWEATHER worry. After all, NW France isn't so different to here climatically.

Given that my favoured Alpine is now mostly composed of parcel tape and cable ties, I doubt they'll worry. They'll just have to hope that whoever decides to waltz off the track next time remodels the other side.

I'll stay up for a bit yet, now I've remembered I have a couple of cans of Rossi Monster in the fridge, and it makes Aldi Malbec less unacceptable. Drinkies!

I'm on Aldi Cotes du Rhone tonight, because French.

It's not going well for Datsun.

#21 went into limp home mode, then died on the track

#22 lost the front clip, but made it back to the pits. Not seen since.

#23 did what looked like a normal pit stop, but they trollied it into the garage and it's been sitting there ever since (20 mins now)

Driver is now out of the car and it doesn't look like there is a lot of activity.

To be fair, they lasted ten hours.

Edit: 22 is back out. 23 will be fixed and be back out, but it'll take some time.

Question is whether they can still make the minimum distance to get classed.
