Aye of course, use the photos as you wish. I'm just glad they turned out ok.

Don't go drag racing in really slow stuff though. It's really boring. 2CV just managed 48mph terminal speed in 28 seconds. Yawn.

^ Yes.  Those Renault 4s beat us quite soundly, even after Russ took his cooling fan off...

Nice work:)

Thing with a 2cv is, there is so little weight even a very modest increase in power would really boost the times.

taking the weight as 580kg(1280lbs), getting to 33bhp would see a 19 sec time..according to here!

Another tank into this beastie 585.2 miles covered- 58.79mpg.

the drop from 66odds was likely down to all the drag racing and a bit more town work.

the refil consisted of 30L of veg, and 15L of derv. total cost was a most pleasing £32.49.

gives a cost per mile of 5.6p

You're getting down to my levels of fuel consumption now you've found the throttle a bit more ;)

Just been up drag racing in this again yesterday- after doing a retune to it.Many thanks to Dink of this here parish for being so patient and much help!

bhp up from 90 a fair bit, torque up from 166ftlb to 225ftlb.

end result is running 16.8s on track rather than 18s:)

the mapping was done via the obd2 port and was simple enough to manage when I'd learned the basics.

you can alter the values in a variety of ways..

Freeware software is available online that allows you to alter the values that map the following criteria:

Driver's Wish (this controls the max fueling at given throttle pedal input %)

ZfmgOTPb.png

Boost Target (Maps the requested boost level from the turbo for a given RPM/Fuel volume)

edA4k0Yk.png

Smoke Limiter (Controls volume of fuel based on air volume and RPM)

k1EOfcZb.png

Torque Limiter (Sets fuel volume limits based on RPM)

Q1mFw8tM.png

In essence then, I have the ability to raise /lower fueling levels and boost levels on a fairly granular basis.

The output is available via the "View performance" function:

I hate your economy ... Xantia only manages 35mpg's with my driving round town, However I can get her to do 41mpg on a run!

Don't think I would notice a massive drop in economy on the drag strip ... Fuel economy was never the Xantia's strong point anyway!

Terrible for a diesel ... Totally worth it though!

I think that's about normal for a 1.9 TD Xantia.

What can I say?VAG in better than XUD shocker;)

I reckon I may squeeze 59mpg out this tank despite 17 runs up the strip yesterday..

get yourself down to York and we can have a head to head!

I've squeezed 56MPG out of a 405 TD estate, you need to go easy on the turbo though

The distributor pump VAG T/SDis are obscenely fuel efficient for relatively uncomplicated diesel engines.

The 130 pd engine in the Passat I had never dropped bellow 55mpg either and that's pretty good for a big heavy car,

those octie seem to be very frugal and you regularly see them for sale with interstellar mileages.

we dont like the PD here due to its carnivorous nature!

veggie ftw;)

World record for a pedal cycle is less than that!

I've just been to look at a Vreg Audi TDI and it had the AHU engine code on the boot sticker, are these the same engine as your taxi?
