Turquoise Turbo Brick Not For Sale

Right then, this is for sale because it's not getting used much, got to be sensible for a bit as I've just bought a flat.  I've had it since September and it's been superb.  It's a 1996 2.3 LPT manual with a mere 138,700 miles, fairly straight and tidy.  It currently has MOT until 16th July but I'll put a fresh 12 months on it in the next couple of weeks.  In the words of Chester's premier used car dealer, 'taxed to get you home'.

Good Bits

  • 2 new Toyo tyres on the rear, probably done about 1000 miles on them, fronts are budgets but have OK tread
  • Cambelt and front cam oil seal replaced in October last year
  • Serviced back in November with fresh oil, filters and coolant
  • New heater valve and fuel pump relay - 2 common weak spots
  • Electric mirrors, sunroof and electric front/rear windows, all working (rear windows are quite stiff and noisy though)
  • It has a fully working towbar with twin electrics
  • It's turquoise

Bad Points

  • It's turquoise
  • It's been keyed quite badly down both sides
  • There's a shallow dent in the bootlid and a couple of little ones on the bonnet
  • The rear light lenses are cracked and scruffy
  • The front bumper's a little wonky on one side
  • The driver's seat cover has worked loose and the vinyl door caps are stretched and creased
  • The passenger wing mirror's had a knock, the glass doesn't adjust properly and the paint is bad
  • The heater's a bit feeble - I think it might benefit from a proper coolant flush with a hose

I'd like £700 for it with a fresh MOT which I'll aim to do in the next week or so - or make me an offer without.

PM me for my number if you'd like to have a chat, the car's in Bideford, North Devon but it could be delivered to most parts of the country, including Scotland, by arrangement.

I misread the title as Turquoise Turbo Buick :?

It would have been on its way here if that was the case!

I'd notice the extra pedal, and the steering wheel being on the wrong side....

Tis a shame you have desires to be sensible. I was going to offer a swap for the XM estate which, despite being quite similar in some ways, would take you into a whole new world of interesting* motor car ownership.

I misread the first line as 'got to be sensible for a while as I've just bought a Fiat'...

What could be more sensible than a Volvo estate Phil? Stick with the shite, I say.

Oops, abandoned thread.  Thanks for the offer of the XM but the last thing I need right now is something higher maintenance!  I do very much want an XM but it'll have to be an early hatchback and at some time when I can actually look after it properly.

Joe's right and with some other unexpected developments I have decided to keep it for now - after all, what on earth is one of these good for if not moving house?
