dad drove nothing but benz diesels.... even pulled a 1.2 tons caravan over the alps with a /8 200D.

That left enough of an impression to vaccinate me against diesels for live.

It's horrible to see old and rare cars damaged by fire or otherwise. Glad you are okay though.
