What are the chances?

I also took the lada for a spin around the yard, it needs a clutch slave cylinder, brakes and a mechanical fuel pump...

There's a couple of videos of it going.

That Lada is terrible/amazing.  It makes me happy.

Yes it's both terrible and amazing, I'm looking forward to fixing it up, welding it and driving it. Dream car for me...

I'm planning on getting the Lada up on the ramp today so let's see how fucked it is underneath and we can decide if I really am living the dream...

Good on you for rescuing it. You are a shite knight in rusty armour.

It's not that bad really, much better than the FSO I tried to rescue last year...

It's mainly just surface rust on most of it, there are a few obvious bits that require welding but it's looking achievable at the moment, I'm planning on cutting out the crash damaged area and either making a new panel or if I can buy one it would probably make things easier...

As you can see there's some damage on the left of the pic

It's the rustiest area of the car meaning I had to get the grinder out.

It looks worse than it is, I'm not worried in the slightest...

I really should wash it, it makes me itch just looking at it...

That Lada is the twin of one I had, way back... G328 EKC.  Best of luck with it, I'd love to see it back in action!

Handsome car and built to last long.

EVERY time I see an old Lada I WANT one! That one's a brilliant one! I wish you well in your restoration & look forward to reading & seeing the story!

I love your Art Deco Shiite cave. Was it very difficult getting from its resting place? If it's the one I remember it was surrounded by rotten Beetles.

Happy to lend a hand as want to see it on the road.

Initially we were disappointed that we had to leave the original unit but this one is much better, Unlimited* outside storage, A sound landlord, A unit close by with a tyre machine, a secure yard with cctv and now a ramp. Sure it isn't as pretty looking as the last place but it's definitely better.

If any local shiters want to use the facilities I'm sure something can be arranged...

Sold loads of these back when they were new. |For the money, they were bloody good. But they were comedy gold on the switchgear - bendy plastic for winners!

I'm trying to decide whether to take the Alto for a drive along to a local car show, it will be full of the same old shit they have every year... Decisions...

I'm not local but want to use the facilities. Any scope for a bedsit arrangement where you can "book in" for a weekend?

Mrs foad doing the driving, we've only spun it once so far on a very wet roundabout. Anyway as you've probably guessed I'm on my way to whitley bay to buy a car for a reasonable offer.

360 glt no less. Loss of traction was due to putting air in the tyres not the powah
