Volvo/Stanza A-frame adventure didn't happen but I have a guy from Inverness wanting to buy the Volvo on Monday.

Where the hell did you find that? I thought they'd all dissolved by 1995.

Top work FOAD - you really are the current gold standard for shiting.....getting through more obscure tat in a few weeks than most of us do in years.

Is it a permanent fleet addition or to sell on.

I never buy anything with the intention of selling on, It's only when I've used it and decide if I like it or not or if I decide it's too much work for me to finish it.

Here's a few pics of it I took in September when it belonged to the previous owner.

Good God,how has that survived up there?

It's not a local registration plate.

I saw a locally registered 120Y estate in Wick a few years ago.

It's not a local registration plate.

It's well traveled that's for sure,

I seem to remember shatz i think that sold it to the Irish chap,

It was mine, shatz owned it, it went to Southern Ireland , then Northern Ireland then Glasgow then on to me, I'm more gutted than I thought I would be but couldn't pass on a 305 d-turbo

check out the BIG BOAR exhaust on that datsun :o

The fact he didn't say what the "15 plate car" is speaks volumes. I would put money on it being a Fiat 500 convertible, which his wife sometimes lets him drive if he behaves properly.

Just this weekend, I advertised a car as breaking for spares and clearly stating in the ad that the seats and wheels were away and the engine was gubbed, but if anyone wanted a complete car, I'd fit wheels and seats for them, but not the ones in the photo.

Message from the guy who runs the facebook page,

"Mate, I'll take the car complete."

"You haven't read the advert, just looked at the photos and the price?"

"Are the wheels genuine?"

"Have you read the advert yet?"

Battle lost.

The advert states that there is a private number on the (£400) car.

"Billy" posts,

"What's the number mate?"

"I don't know, some worthless shit like 'B1LLY'"

"PM me mate, I'll take it."

Battle lost.

Mercedes fail list isn't as bad as expected...

Reason(s) for failure

front Brake pad(s) less than 1.5 mm thick (3.5.1g)

nearside Stop lamp not working (1.2.1b)

nearside Registration plate lamp not working (1.1.C.1d)

central Exhaust has a major leak of exhaust gases (7.1.2)

offside front Tyre tread depth below requirements of 1.6mm (4.1.E.1)

offside rear Tyre tread depth below requirements of 1.6mm (4.1.E.1)

I knew that it would need tyres, discs and pads so a couple of bulbs and an exhaust wasn't too bad of a result...

FTFY. Sounds like the Samara manboy fanboy strikes again?!

While I was changing the tyres I had a quick look underneath to look for the blow in the exhaust.

I found a small crack in one of the pipes on the middle silencer so that will need replacing too.

The rear suspension feels quite soft so I ordered new shocks.

There was an advisory for play in the steering so I'm going to try adjusting the steering box if possible.

I was expecting a much worse list of stuff to work through so I'm happy that it's only minor things needing doing.

The old tyres were pretty bad.

It feels a lot better to drive on the new tyres.
