Managed to get some pics of the fan.

Just about finished painting it.

I also managed to wire up a stereo and some pimpin' Kenwoods on the parcel shelf from the 440 I got from Bub. It makes driving the car a bit more pleasant and the speakers go loud enough to drown the noise of the engine.

I know most of you would have preferred I resprayed the car in the original colour but I just can't justify wasting that kinda money on a car that will never be worth more than a couple of hundred quid.

I like it too. The finish makes it look like a living Photoshop edit.

Close enough. Job well done. You're welcome to all the spares should you need them at any point.

I liked it with the original paint and missed matched wing. What you really need it's 37 gallons of thinners and 790000 small cloths.

Here's a photo of my bangin' sound system sat on the parcel shelf

In other news, after nagging Mike for over a year he eventually took his power washer along to the unit...

Managed to get some of the dirt off just with water.

I think I've found some wheels more suited to the 18

They are form a Reliant ss1 and look like a similar design to the original 18 hubcaps. They need painted but have come up ok with a wire wheel on the angle grinder.

Also borrowed the Camry for the weekend

I borrowed a huge trailer from the owner of our unit

Think of all the cars I can fit in here when done!

OK, So the coolant leak was my fault, my new fan shroud was quite a bit thicker than the old one so when I squeezed it in I knocked the radiator into the alternator pulley which eventually put a hole in the radiator. No amount of K-seal is going to stop that leak. I tested the original fan again and it fucking works! I'm mildly annoyed at myself for making things worse.

I'll now need to wait until payday to buy another radiator.

Today I had a look at doing some more welding on the Tata.

I'm not entirely sure what to do with the rear arches, I cut out the rust as best I could. I'm thinking I might use some 4x4 style plastic wheel arch covers to hide the arches under.

This is as far as I got before the gas ran out...

Or so I thought, regulator on the cylinder wasn't the best so I took it apart and used the CO2 specific fittings on an argon regulator. There was still a good bit of gas in the cylinder but it was leaking badly from somewhere. I found the hose that goes into the welder had perished in places so I cut it down and fitted it all back together and it's now working correctly without leaking.

Red oxide really does suit the Renner better than the nato green, specially on those wheels.  I'm impressed at both how rotten that Beta is (without being a Lancia) and how stubbornly you're persevering with putting new metal into the bastarding thing.

...Id wager even mk2 mondeos look on with green eyed envy, with the amount amount off 'gaffer tape love' you've bestowed upon your Tata's front end...

...I have a mere metre of gaffer tape on my disco's drivers side alloy rear quarter - which I sawed off to deal with rust issues n then reattached it with pop-rivets, which the gaffer tape now cunningly hides tho much of it hidden beneath its o/e plastic/alloy trim; ...perhaps demonstrating my fleeting n occasional love for my disco 1...

I'm sure the blue one won't have moved since I told you about it  :-D

Im off to scb tomorrow, will see if the one they have is still there. Maybe you cut out the arches from it?

You now have 2 sets of wheels that I really want! Mk1 espace wheels and ss1 wheels ... Both 4x100 too.

Dugong has already called dibs on the Espace wheels if I was to sell them. If I can find a set of wheels for the 18 I'd sell the ss1 wheels too.

On with the Tata, I finished welding this side, it's not great but it will do.

The front bumper is fucked on the corners so I was thinking about making replacement bits from tyres...

The sill on this side looks crap in comparison to the other but I'm not too fussed.

I reckon bumper end caps from a metal bumper Maestro, or possibly MK3 Escort, would fit.

I may use something like that but I'm going for the cheapest option on everything when it comes to buying stuff for the Tata.

Went to scb but the red tata they had has said tata and is away now.

Definitely a unique look going on there. I like it!

Got some of it off with a jet wash but think I need something stronger.

Also noticed a new dent in the 240

I'm mildly annoyed but have pretty much decided to keep it and run it into the ground.
