brownnova Posted April 19, 2015 Posted April 19, 2015 Ok so, I was looking through some of the photos on my phone of the various cars I have photo'd this year, and thought it right to share them with the shiter world! So I'll throw a few up today, and then update as I go along! A local Ovlov to start! Another - This one in Wilson's auctions A 'stang in Stratford 911 One that hasn't rusted away Welsh rarebit A 924 I nearly bought Skizzer, DVee8, worldofceri and 14 others 17
brownnova Posted April 19, 2015 Author Posted April 19, 2015 A small selection from last year's shows next Autoshite colour scheme Rat look... And finally the Hammerhead Eagle iThrust - or something like that Semi-C, Magnificent Rustbucket, danthecapriman and 11 others 14
brownnova Posted April 26, 2015 Author Posted April 26, 2015 So the attention of this picture based thread turns to some cars that have been involved in my life so far... first up a couple from my youth growing up and stuff Gold! Sunny... everything is Sunny.... especially in 'Spirit' trim with corduroy seats!!! My first steed! The brownnova Brown Nova! Whilst at Uni I bought this festering heap of junk as a classic run around - Now as owned by Practical Classics! (Most/all the bodges were there when I bought it) My more recent classics are this classy 924 (which ended up containing some serious holes in the sills... :-/ ) And the Midget that broke down not once, but twice on the way home from collecting it - (yes that would have been an amusing live collection thread, but I daren't have got my phone out in the very undesirable part of Liverpool breakdown number 2 happened in!) Next time back to some more spotted related content!! Junkman, mercrocker, worldofceri and 8 others 11
brownnova Posted April 26, 2015 Author Posted April 26, 2015 Ok so that last Midget picture really lived up to the thread title here's a less blurry one! brickwall, Junkman, Magnificent Rustbucket and 1 other 4
Lord Sterling Posted April 27, 2015 Posted April 27, 2015 This: Simply wins this thread for me. I really need an R8 Rover 200/400 in my life. I'd recently been watching some more newly uploaded 90's Crimewatch on Youtube. I noticed that quite a few R8 200s were used in robberies. A few of 'em, brand new at the time ended up as burnt wrecks after the robberies, but one was simply dumped, but it went on to live on until about 2002. Cavcraft, Junkman and warren t claim 3
brownnova Posted April 27, 2015 Author Posted April 27, 2015 Yeah I've been wanting an 200 too hence the photos at the NEC show. Local garage had one for £200 recently, but by the time I could get there when it was open (stupid work getting in the way of chod buyage) they'd sold it!
brownnova Posted May 3, 2015 Author Posted May 3, 2015 First up for this update some festering driveway chod! First up a 924 - Which again I nearly bought recently Then a Skoda Estelle 105S in lovely bog standard Beige! (location top secret as one day I plan to persuade the old guy to part with it - when I've got a garage!) If you were watching 'for the love of cars' a couple of weeks ago you will know that there are simply no Aston Martin's out there awaiting restoration - Well I found one! Although I know that the bloke is unwilling to part with it. Even for silly money! Up next possibly the most disgusting car I have ever seen. A garage in Prestatyn had three of these monstrosities on it's forecourt! A 'Wills' something... And not very Autoshitey but at John Woods Motorcare's open day (local classic car specialist) A lovely Gilbern and Lancia! Edit: Realise this is a re-post of the Gilbern/Lancia... Ah well they're nice enough! Magnificent Rustbucket, trigger, UmBongo and 13 others 16
Cavcraft Posted May 3, 2015 Posted May 3, 2015 Class! Is John Woods the place in Mollington, and have you seen that MG Midget quietly rusting away on someone's drive in Blacon?
brownnova Posted May 3, 2015 Author Posted May 3, 2015 Yeah that's the one. They're pretty good there did a few jobs on my old Midget. And yeah seen that Midget it's not all that far from me. It's pretty far gone - keep meaning to take a pic but haven't walked the dog that way for a while. A few doors up there's a TVR Griffith as well, but that gets used. Cavcraft 1
skoda_fan Posted May 3, 2015 Posted May 3, 2015 Some top sightings there. Just done some Googling on that hideous thing. Seems it's a (Toyota) WiLL Cypha/VC, made from2002 to 2005. It succeeded the (unbelievably) even more hideous WiLL Vi, made from 2000 to 2001. Apparently the "WiLL" idea was a design fad applied to various Japanese products. Mad! Looks like there's one of those hideous Nissan Cube things at that dealer too!
danthecapriman Posted May 3, 2015 Posted May 3, 2015 Great spots there. But, what kind of unhinged muppet leaves an Aston Martin like that outside to rot!? Such a shame. I wonder what's in the garage that's so important, where the Aston should be. michael1703 1

Cavcraft Posted May 3, 2015 Posted May 3, 2015 I know where's than abandoned/neglected looking Nova just outside Chester if you fancy trying to relive your youth! Sadly, it's not an SR or GTE, or i'd been on their doorstep now with my cap in my hand.
brownnova Posted June 6, 2015 Author Posted June 6, 2015 Well back after a small pause - first up some 'on the road' spots - Be ready for some pretty awful foto-ing skillz! Avenger - Spotted on my way to pick up a Dominos Pizza (Other Pizzas are available, although no guarantee of spotting an Avenger estate is implied) Mk1 Espace - just about visible in the distance - Note the great choice of Radio station in this pic! This offended my eyes so much I thought I'd better snap it! At the Prestatyn Classic car show next - I'm not always a fan of 'Rat look' but this one was great! Jaaaaaaaaaaaaaag and a Datsun! I took a pic of the Datsun- but I can't find it... Damn! And finally for this update - (The next will be along in a few minutes) A Vintage Rover in the National Trust property Erddig. Clearly festering away after a 'restoration' according to it's little plaque. I wonder how many cars the National Trust is allowing to decay without use in it's collection??? I feel a freedom of information request coming... uk_senator, danthecapriman, Cavcraft and 9 others 12
Cavcraft Posted June 6, 2015 Posted June 6, 2015 Nice one! The Avenger is a local favourite, he's always about in it. Do you live in Blacon, by any chance? Round the corner from the Midget and TVR was an A40 Farina with a 'for sale' advert for another car in the side window.
brownnova Posted June 6, 2015 Author Posted June 6, 2015 Off to Gawsworth Hall classic car show next... There were hundreds of cars here so I snapped some of the Shitey-er ones as well as some nice ones. I'll share a selection here... Maxi!!! This DS was superb! And a great colour scheme too! Nice to see an MG Montego out in the wild! A Morgan in official Autoshite livery As a former Midget owner... I always snap a nice one! Especially in 'British Leyland Sludge' Because Everyone loves a Barn find... Ovolovlovlovlovlovlovlovlovlov Uploading these makes me realise just how slow my upload speeds on my interweb connection are...Orion - I love the back lights on these... so I took a picture of the front. XR4! I've forgotten what the beans this one is now! MOAR Maxi akshun! My Gran had a Metro City, so always brings back nostalgia. Once she drove down the street in someone else's Metro by accident, the key just fitted. It wasn't until she realised that the shopping sat on the seat next to her wasn't hers that she noticed! I do love three wheelers - Bond Bug being a dream car one day! This Nash was pretty cool And finally - Imagine Mr ALD's glee when the budget supermarket chain started up and devalued his numberplate... Surely this should be attached to a budget car, maybe a Peugeot 205GLD or Mk2 Fiesta or something similar Magnificent Rustbucket, brickwall, mouseflakes and 10 others 13

Round the corner from the Midget and TVR was an A40 Farina with a 'for sale' advert for another car in the side window. Yeah I do - I didn't see that one tho... Keep my eyes peeled - I always think with the number of funny little courtyards with hundreds of those Green doored garages there must be some interesting shite lurking round in Blacon... Cavcraft 1
cros Posted June 6, 2015 Posted June 6, 2015 ^ agreed! I saw a Cube yesterday. I like Cubes. Saw a cubed cube at the scrappy. Magnificent Rustbucket and mercrocker 2
NorfolkNWeigh Posted June 6, 2015 Posted June 6, 2015 The yellow kit car looking thing is a Piper GT. brickwall, brownnova, Magnificent Rustbucket and 1 other 4
worldofceri Posted June 6, 2015 Posted June 6, 2015 Can't believe no-one's picked up on this picture as it's chock-full of shiteist-owned rammle! That's Squire_Dawson's Allegro there, with Lord Sterling's Rover Coop behind it. Over to the left you can just make out Skattrd's Lanica and an SVM Volvo. The chunk of beige creeping into the foreground is either Junkman or Conrad D. Conelrad's Rover P6. There's usually an Autoshite presence at Cholmondeley. We're aiming for the 6 Sept one this year. 'Details' here. Lord Sterling, Magnificent Rustbucket, Skizzer and 4 others 7
Cavcraft Posted June 6, 2015 Posted June 6, 2015 Yeah I do - I didn't see that one tho... Keep my eyes peeled - I always think with the number of funny little courtyards with hundreds of those Green doored garages there must be some interesting shite lurking round in Blacon... I think it was on Fisher Road, and round the corner from it somewhere was a red Nova saloon. I used to live on Nevin Road for a short while, behind the old (now gone) shops.
Louise2cv Posted June 11, 2015 Posted June 11, 2015 Prob better on the stupid questions thread but: a.) Do you have a Brown Nova?b.) Were you in Caernarfon in a brown nova this week? I waved just in case. brownnova 1
mouseflakes Posted June 11, 2015 Posted June 11, 2015 I just had to go through an 'like' pretty much everything in this thread. White Espace is an especially epic spot! brownnova 1
brownnova Posted June 13, 2015 Author Posted June 13, 2015 I think it was on Fisher Road, and round the corner from it somewhere was a red Nova saloon. I used to live on Nevin Road for a short while, behind the old (now gone) shops. I go to the church on Nevin Rd, and walk the dog down it most days, but I never knew there had been shops on Nevin Rd! Prob better on the stupid questions thread but: a.) Do you have a Brown Nova?b.) Were you in Caernarfon in a brown nova this week? I waved just in case. 'fraid you waved at a randomer.... My Brown Nova was my first (and favourite) car... alas I no longer own one... I just had to go through an 'like' pretty much everything in this thread. White Espace is an especially epic spot! Thanks! I was pretty astounded with the white Espace, hence my determination to get a shot of it! Usually when you see the good stuff your camera's nowhere to be seen!
Cavcraft Posted June 13, 2015 Posted June 13, 2015 The shops were right opposite the new ones on Western Avenue. Oddly enough, I found a picture of them on Facebook this morning... ...I lived pretty much right next to the church. Had some great times* round there, and in the Wagon, never really a dull day as something was always going on. *Except when some pissed up bastard drove into my Ford Anglia and wrote it off. He was already banned from driving and uninsured and I never got a penny.
Louise2cv Posted June 13, 2015 Posted June 13, 2015 Oh. I'm gonna contact trading standards or something. spike60, brownnova and Cavcraft 3
brownnova Posted July 13, 2015 Author Posted July 13, 2015 Only a small update today - real life gets in the way of Shite spotting.... First up - a particularly shonky Astra Mk2 Estate! Some driveway Shite from my regular dog walking route (not pictured dog, or Celica that's hiding behind the fence)The Minor is deteriorating rapidly - don't think it's moved ina while, which is a shame as it looked pretty good when it was parked up. In the Petrol Station the other day I saw this piece of BBC history! I (almost literally) ran across the forecourt to take pictures... My wife was v embarrassed! And finally...! Is this an example of Cheshire West Council cuts? Sod painting lines - send a bloke with a spray can... Oddest Graffiti I've ever seen! worldofceri, mercrocker, Skizzer and 9 others 12
worldofceri Posted July 13, 2015 Posted July 13, 2015 Wow. Great work spotting that BBC lorry in the wild. Had to look it up as I had no idea what it is. Internet sez 1969 Albion Clydesdale.
Cavcraft Posted July 13, 2015 Posted July 13, 2015 That (ace) BBC lorry goes to the Kelsall steam/vintage show (I missed it this year, it was a couple of weeks ago) and that ace white Astra is round the corner from the Rover 75 diesel I bought a couple of months back.
