I'm thinking at £350-400 delivered, it can't be that bad - have heavy duty vacuum for doghairs. Am expecting some weldage, some brake bleedage, some engine tinkerage and a good clean. Oh, and decent tyres.

I didn't have a crawl underneath it, but the bodywork on top was better than mine. As for tyres, I think they may use the same stud pattern as Suzuki sj/vitara, so cheap wheels with tyres could be easy to find.

There is a brake master rebuild kit on ebay at present... Not sure if its the correct one, but may be worth checking out.

I've learned ... the last surprise nearly caused a divorce. I explained to her the Hotchkiss Jeep history of the UMM - and she was fine - but her dad had umpteen Jeeps (Willys and Ford) and she learned to drive on one, so she's OK with ugly Mutts.

I have just bought a set of vitara wheels for my fregate that should be here next week £41 off ebay for 4. If you are desparate and it needs them for collection I could lend them out for a while.

Wouldn't that mean, that UMM or even original Jeep wheels would fit Fregates?

Suzuki wheels (5x 139.7) are indeed the same pcd as Fregates, as both mine wore/ wear nice ish rims. They also fit Syrenas , Zuks , and a whole host of old schizz. Umms to, by the sound of it.

Well fingers crossed my Fregates will be picked up on Monday but the seller is a man of few words and just replied with "ok" when asked if they would be ready to go for then. Have you managed to arrange payment for the UMM ? Hopefully the driver will pay for it when he collects for you as he will be leaving here with a big wedge of cash !

I gave Dan three options = paypal as a gift, bank transfer or cash in an envelope sent registered post. I prefer the first two options as it's less hassle for me. He'll have his money before its collected.
