Does Envoy = "Stingy Bastard"?

Looks that way, mind you me and the wife had one a few years back, same year, engine and trim but that had vauxhall cd changer in glove box and electronic power steering. This one hasn't got anything.

I've got the perfect engine/box AND a GLS interior for one of these.

I bet youve got a special offer on automatic mk3 astras as well

Do enlighten me as to the perfect box and engine combo?! Did the Gls have rev counter? Don't tempt me with the astra,I prefer autos but the mot is only short si that's lucky!

Also can you help me Billy, could you tell me what to check or what sensor needs changing when accelerating under load up hills or on the bypass it will throw the eml on for a few seconds till I lift off the throttle a bit. Thanks.

Ours did that, I seem to recall a service did the trick, I think they're fussy about what oil they have and a new air filter does wonders. That said, mine did it loads of times and I perfected the art of pretending to have a German car by simply ignoring a glowing orange light on the dashboard.

Buy yourself a spare couple of (new) oil pressure switches by the way and carry an 18mm (possibly 19, can't remember) spanner with you for when the inevitable happens.

GLS had rev counter, I have a complete 1.5TD here, but I'm ambulance chasing (elsewhere) for a cheap one with MOT and knackered mecahnics so I can put my engine in.

Had it just under 70 but won't pull more, feeling like it's holding back under power. The old one we had wouldn't go over 60. Soon as it reached 60 eml came on and was like a rev limiter. I can actually feel it starting to pull back before light comes on.

Isn't the heirarchy Merit, Envoy, Swing?  If it were truly bottom of the pile you wouldn't even have metallic paint and that rear wiper would be right out.

Mine also produced several hundred cubic yards of horsehair out of the backbox, once that'd gone it went much better.

Now I qualify as an ex-corsa owner I have an opinion. My one was a very good little car, so long as you don't try crashing in it, it seemed to be very very lightly built.

Merit went out with the 97 facelift. Envoy is the base. Welcome to the club. Please re-evaluate all standards before you take a seat.
