A bit of parts recovery, the steering rack from Gogentleys Visa to get a fellow Visa owner's Visa GT Tonic back on the road.

Free either of those dates at the moment. I’ve also got some Classic and Sportscars and some Railway tat for you Chris!

Date now set for 28/29 April 2018

Usual format, drink tea, work on your car, work on my stuff and I would like to move things around to get the Alfa Giulietta to the front so it can be worked on.

My Fix List

Brakes for Spitfire MK3

Make Alfa start, has no spark.

Lift cylinder head from block on spare Visa engine

Remove suspension from yellow Visa

Camping available, mains water and composting toilet.

I am also thinking about a test laying of the temporary road I have in case we need it for the Festival of the Unexceptional.

This will involve getting the JCB working!

Cool, count me in. Not sure if both days yet but definitely one of them. I have a hoover for Beko if he’s coming along.

I don't think I am I'm afraid. Will be only weekend after about 6 that I'll be at home and not doing anything... Should probably stay home and do chores, the grass is up to my knees...

Don't rule anything out though, might try and pop over one of the days with eva, but I can't promise yet

Barring war, pestilence, disease or the slightest hint of wetness, the Silvers will be in attendance as always (that bloody Maxi again).

Hopefully both days.

Maybe time for some electrickery on the Alfa.

Or quite fancy dismantling the Range Rover.

Should really be attacking Bob the Renault, but more fun tinkering with someone else's stuff, especially with company, tea and biscuits!

I quite fancy dismantling that Range Rover as well, I am very good at taking things apart.

Just not quite as good at putting them back together!

Ah-ha!

Someone else with a rachet that only works on undo!

I had a great weekend out with the Triumph Sports Six Club and the highlight was the visit to XM655 Vulcan Bomber where we got to climb in the cockpit and bomb bay.

Just thinking out loud, if there was an appetite for this we could go as a group?

Is there a day at the weekend that looks more 'busy'? Amazingly Amy casually said I could pop along if I wanted (was not really mentioning it as I've been out and about the last 5 weekends in a row...)

I have stuff I need/want to do at home, really should sort my steering out on the gooner (although in my head I don't want to incase I bork the alignment up), but if one day is looking particularly busy I'd love to come. Any objection to bringing Eva along? She should* enjoy it.

I am watching the weather, when I picked the dates BBC said a lovely dry weekend now they are saying rain Saturday pm and Sunday. I have some free time the following Bank holiday weekend so I am waiting for a closer weather forecast to call it. I say sack Carol Kirkwood!

This Saturday I have to take a friend to Reading so he can move his daughters narrow boat and won't be back until 11am at the Field of Dreams.

Saturday is looking more likely to be my car working day, Gareth is free and we want to service the Mazda to see if it stops being quite as bad on fuel as it has been so far. Rain Saturday PM sounds like I'll be doing my car under the garden parasol...

Plus bank holiday weekend Amy is off to her dad's Sunday and Monday... With the kids...

Where is the Field of Dreams?

Near Buckingham.

If you are coming PM me and I will send you the details and a map which I don't want on the public view forum.

Apparently yes. My Citroen garage has standard ones, but I’m told they aren’t man enough to cope with the very large Mercedes springs. I have no intention of forcing Lee to try in case it breaks and he looses a hand or worse. I’ve dropped him an email asking if yours are better. Or I’m back to trying the dealer again, as still I can’t get a Mercedes specialist to even look at it.

A traction is on the horizon though, so if you fancy giving the Range Rover a trip with a trailer attached I’ll be very interested - you’re the only one I know with a suitable tow! £££ available.

As of last Sunday the current plan is to drive up with a spare drive shaft in the boot, buy the car cheaply ( if it’s as described) swap the shaft on his drive and take off with the car and possibly limp it over to my parent’s which is probably not 60miles. Given that it’s been off the road for 9years I see this as very optimistic, but a good collection thread!

Excellent, I will PM you.

Due to the weather forecast being rain Sunday we are going to make Saturday the 28th April the main day.

Unfortunately I have to give a friend a lift first thing so I cannot be sure to be back until 10.30am.

PM me if you need the address.

Good stuff, that was the day I was planning. It looks like Sams coming, so I will bring this Dyson for him.

Can't promise I'm afraid, got a fair bit to do... Was going to attempt to come over on Sunday but that looks like no one will be there...

I'm might be popping in to the FoD on the way through so could pick up the Dyson and drop it over to you. Failing that, I'm sure we could find some solution between all of us.

Nothing can stop the inexorable flow of old vacuum cleaners to your shed, kitchen, attic, bedroom etc.

Saying that it's now raining here... So who knows, can't be bothered to work on the car in the rain!
