Swede for a swede for a swede! Fixed!

Even the handbrake ratchet noise is identifiable as Saab - loving the seats. If you need any bits, I think I have clocks, front seats, some switchgear and twin carbs on a fanimold if needs be. Bridged a low mile 1979 auto a few years ago - nobody wanted it, even at scrap price.

GLWTHMOT.

This is how much people love 99s - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nDHpvTDJMrc#t=134

Well bought, especially in that hideous colour (opal green ?) I had a 96L of similar vintage in the same colour, a photo doesn't do justice to it :)  The finishing touch would of course be  EMS soccerball alloys, assuming it is the one with the handbrake working on the front calipers. I just happen to know someone who has a set in shed  which may just be available for a nominal price ;)

Yes, Opal green. It's a colour I love and want a 99 in that same colour one day.

At that age, will definitely be front handbrake, so Soccerballs will definitely fit.

I have quite a few grills of different spec 99's from 'L' to 'Turbo' and 'GLE'.

Have also got quite a few rev counter type dashboards if you wanted to change from the large clock type.

Soccerball alloys, really suit the earlier 99's.

lol

Like the Saabs they're fitted to, they're a bit of a Marmite wheel. Personally, I love them and all Classic Saabs, but then, I'm strange!!

The steels and hubcaps really suit this car IMHO.

Even so, you NEED those alloys.

The standard hubcaps look good, especially if the standard steel wheel has been banded :-D

I do love a green 99! Here's mine I owned around 13 years ago... Sold it to someone in derby, then sadly in 2005 some kid bought it who I think didn't really want it - I replied to his forum post that I might be interested in buying it back but no response. I guess it was then scrapped  (not on doovla) Good solid body too - ziebarted from new.

Anyway if anyone knows if this is floating around somewhere, though I guess it's probably a zanussi or summin now.

not so much 99 love unless it was turbo back then...

No you need to find a 96 from the 60's for that!

It's a 2.0 inline 4 with 100 ponies - though early ones had the 1850 or 1701cc dolomite engine.

Brilliant car. Great work on getting it back on the road.

I really like the colour and it's 'worn' state. Looks like it gets down the road ok in the vid too.

I had several of these back in the day, mainly because they were cheap and a bit quirky. But for a 'big' old car they are a great drive, I even got over 100mph out of my single carb 1981 model. Without the stress of a turbo these things just run and run..

That auto still seems to shift OK, never had an auto saab...

Got taken for a spin in this yesterday, very impressed with how fast it is particularly considering it's an auto!
