Class, or at least classy is something you could never say about Stella. Have a read of 'Retro Ford' or visit 'OldSkoolFord' to find out why...."SO I GOT UP, AD A STELLA, THEN BORT A ESCORT FOR £1,000,000 BARGAIN YKT, THEN I AD ANUVVER NELSON MANDELLA AND DROVE MI ESCORT TO THE PUB FOR SOME MOR STELLA AND DID SUM BURNOUTS. OI OI U NUTTERS. O WELL BACK TO BLOCK PAVIN DRIVES AND GUZZLIN MOR STELLA NEXT WEEK YKT."CNUTS.

Stella used to be marketed on its exclusivity and high price. I'm not sure if the slogan was "reassuringly expensive" but it was something like that. It's another of those brands, Pringle and Burberry being two others, that's made the jump from class to crass.

If you want something 'proper' to get razzed of your tits on, I would heartily recommend this:

6.5% ensures that the transition to slurring, bumbling unco-ordinated mess is both rapid and brutal. A winner.

Have to say I laugh when people get all keen about their favourite lager and how it's better than the others. Four bloody ingredients, how different do you think they can make it? The luxury image is a purely marketing construct, with the only 'benefit' being a higher ABV. But I'm not 100% sure about the chav link; I think a broad sweep through society fall for the more cost must equal better product idea. Personally I say it's a load of tosh. Buying premium lager makes as much sense as buying a new Alfa. Mind you I'd take an Alfa after the initial depreciation.........

Hen is 100% class, not too fierce, not too nancy. A surefire winner for all occasions. Also on my faves list is Bombadier Burning Gold, which is delightful.Don't discount some of the 'Badger' beers either - nice spot of Tanglefoot or Golden Glory yum yum yum!!

There's a rule of thumb with alcoholic drinks- if it's not hurting it's not working. Hence cheap red wine is my chosen tipple.

There's a strange Badger one with some sort of spices or somesuch in it... I think it's really nice but after about 1 and a half bottles you do get a bit sick of it...

Bombardier's always a safe bet, I've not tried the Burning Gold one though...

EDIT: It's Blandford Fly...

I'm dead keen on the cheap 'Czech Lager' from the Co-op at the moment

Our local chip shop caters to the migrant workers by selling a wide range of virtually vowel-free alcoholic drinks. Not cheap though, robbing bastard.

Ahh weekend, off up to Buxton tomorrow to freeze of my nuts and do an impression of that dog in Trains planes and automobiles . On the beer front cant touch it ,13 years ago went out with mates drank 5 small bottles of Bud during the evening walked out side and collapsed, didn't like that so don't do it anymore. Strange thing is I wasn't even talking like Bill and Ben :shock:

I'm a fan of whatever water-damaged/discontinued ale lies within the "Big In Booze" 6 for £8 offer. Pictured next to the Galant is some 7.6% stuff which inexplicably seems to sell out quite fast. The store is on the edge of an area of poverty, this could be a possible explanation.

In fact I'm going to go there now and by tomorrow I'll have probably bought a load of rubbish off eBay. Nice one.

most of the bars here either sell stella or this..

not a bad beer drink enough gets you hammered

You want shit beer? A trip to Tyneside is in order for some tins of the Federation Brewery's piss-weak Ace Lager (3%). Like fuggin pond water.

Makes Tesco/Asda/etc generic value brand lager seem like classy stuff in comparison.

Does no one here drink Budweiser? "The king of beers". 8)

Only Budvar Budweiser. I'd rather drink my own pish than drink the other one. Same goes for virtually all nitro keg (Marston's make one that's ok) especially one that's been advertised as no-nonsense.

Erm, sorry but I'll have to disagree with you there.:( This is not just me being obtuse as I'm a card-carrying real-ale-twat,:) so mass-produced pasteurised American (or any other suchlike) beer is not to my liking!!! Remember, this is just my opinion, don't let me stop you enjoying it, just don't ask me to like it!
