So, first time I've been to this. I'd made a promise to head over and say hi, it was a social event with bonus cars - honestly thought there would be a lot of questionable vehicles but it was excellent! Sunshine and the great venue helped.

 

I only took a 2GB memory card which would normally be fine, bit I'd leeched a fancy camera from work and by the time I'd noticed it was doing 24mp pics I only had about 30 pics left, so had to stop taking pics early.

The RRG thing does seem to attract primarily the better elements of the blue forum from what I've seen in the past.  Never made it, my car is always broken whenever I've tried.

Had the pennies been available (and had this not clashed with Chumbumley) I'd have gone to this. My RRG attendance record is patchy.

It always bloomin' clashes with something for me. Some seriously nice kit there. The white V6 405 isn't the Ebay handbrake job is it? That'd just be too much. What a great idea though.

RRG is always a good do, Like Vulg says most of the RR bellends don't go and it's generally a good crack and always seems to cop for great weather. I'd go every year but I copped for our lasses brothers wedding this year instead. Newark registry office at 9:30am followed by a £6.95 Thai lunch. 

 

One of my fondest memories is driving down there in my old Lupo with a mini moto engined folding grannies shopper pushbike on the roof and having about a dozen people try and hi five me out of the window in traffic on the m5.

Every year I say I wish I'd gone! Me and some mates spoke about going but it was last minute and we couldn't get camping tickets but next year I'll definitely be there, he says...

I think there's a lot of long standing RR members who attend the Gathering but rarely post on the forum these days. It's a good event though and well worth doing the whole weekend.

I was talking to a RR founder who doesn't really post there much - people do move on, but events and forums will always attract different crowds. There was a lovely range of stuff there, like I say I'd gone to be sociable but the shiny and usable classics really impressed me.
