Not viewed this thread for a while.. you'd expect that 'new' shite would dry up in such a place - seems not! Great thread.

With regards to this pic, it's probably nothing exciting, but what is the yellow car on the left outside of the compound?

Gompo, I think the yellow car to which you refer is a Fabia, or possibly a mk3 Golf. Certainly not anything rateable unfortunately!

The E25 beemer is very nice and the Audi looks very clean too.

The last thing is a Ssang Yong Musso isn't it?? You would not really want to make one of those any more conspicuous would you!

Someone asked about the MOT rules in Jersey, well, there ain't one! Unfortunatley, tthere is a catch. If you import something, not only to you have to pay a hefty sum in import duty [based on engine size, if it's less than 25 years old]] but then you are subjected to an inspection that makes the MOT seem like a walk in the park. That means that all the interesting Jersey registered stuff is far too expensive, and there's a lot of cruddy old sheds around that even a bent MOT inspector would hesitate to pass. Occasionally there's a blitz [by way of roadchecks] but as long as all the lights work, the tyres aren't bald, and the bodywork isn't too grim, you'll pass. Going back to the inspection on entry to Jersey, there seems to be an unwritten rule that anything extensively modified, wether it's safe or not, will not pass. I know, I've got the t shirt!

Left hookers require 30 mins (mainly to allow for checking headlamp alignment) and "classics" need a full day for the comprehensive Super-MoT examination.Stuff like Jap/US imports (anything without EU type approval) requires a "Certificate of Approval", similar to the UK Single Vehicle Approval test. Vehicles over 10 years old don't need this in the UK, leading to the strange situation of - for example - Nissan Figaros having been fully registered in England, but still incurring this Ã‚Â£300-plus inspection to be registered in Jersey, much to the frustration of their owners (due to demand, the waiting list is many weeks too).

As a resident of Jersey, I'm not happy that NONE of my old nails [past or present]has appeared in your photos!

Hey, I've only been back here six months and combing every square foot of the place is going to take time... give me some clues and I'll track your tin down!
